I have a 2018 Tacoma limited and i want to retrofit the motorized seat that is in the newer trucks. This shouldn't be too hard of a task as I've done random retrofit upgrades on my tesla. The issue i am having is i cant find part number for a new truck vs my current truck.

I'm on the https://toyota-usa.epc-data.com/tacoma site but my frame name is not listed. my truck is labeled as a GRN305L on the sticker in the door jamb but if you go to the site i linked that is not an option.

Also if anyone could provide me with some help finding the frame number for a newer truck so i can cross reference the new part numbers with my current part numbers and see which parts exactly i need to order.

Its really annoying how there are like 30 different options for Toyota but for my tesla it was simple as looking at the 2014 model and a 2017 model. Super easy to look up parts and cross ref but apparently Toyota doesn't want us doing this and had made it crazy stupid difficult.

The seat itself should bolt right up. Mainly would be the wiring for power which would be easy. Hopefully all the airbag stuff is the same and it’s almost plug and play. I just retrofitted some Audi S5 seats into my second gen. Find a wrecked new truck and your golden.

Looking at the parts diagram it doesn’t seem like Toyota sells an assembled seat, only the individual pieces. Which means you would either need to buy each bit and assemble yourself or buy a used seat from a wrecker. I’d pick option 2, www.car-part.com is a great way to find one near you.

I’d def go complete seat out of a wreck than a parts. Best bang for the buck that way.

Ok so I can start looking for a wrecked one to salvage the seat from. Anyone know what year they started including the motorized seats?

I've been looking on eBay and have called a couple dozen auto recyclers and can't find any seats.

I was thinking though Lexus is made by Toyota but they are a "premium" brand. Likely they have interchangeable parts to save money. Anyone know if a Lexus SUV or truck has heated, airbag, motorized seats? And what years they were made.

I'm thinking I could go to a Lexus dealer and bust out a tape measure and see if the bolt holes are the same but that would limit me to current year which I'm unlikely to find in a scrap yard.

German seats are so much better than Tacoma seats. Have photos?

I do miss the multi adjustable seats in my previous X5. Wish I had those seats in my Tacoma.
