Yeah that’s out front. That longboard got stolen and I got a fresh 9’8. yeah the fishing here is nuts, I have multiple friends that make a living, support families on fishing. Flounder, snook, reds… whatever ya want! You know

Yeah, before I left, had a 24' pathfinder tournament. Fished Tampa for snook and reds 4-5 days a week for a decade...Push button, boat in water, go fish! .... I fucking hate the fishing here...

$30 in seals and a couple hours of labor. If i was seasoned I could do it in an hour or less...

All said not too bad. New ram is $275 before ship, local hydro shops wanted $300+ parts and labor to rebuild

I bitched about having to do this but it's like a 4/10 project lol

Those are the best kinds of projects, cheap and oh so informative.

pretty sweet profit margin on that rebuild job too.

    I appreciate the encouragement :)

    Overall it is very straightforward

This ittty bitty u cup seal is kicking my ass, the smallest u cup installer I could buy is too big so I'm trying to bend it into a kidney and install with my pinky and it ain't goin so well

I don't feel too bad though, the hydro shops around here do tractors and equipment so they were laughing when I was asking about a baby sized 2" ram

The real cost so far is my time and the alcohol involved

I guess I also had to buy a cheap vise because I wasn't about to drive 5 hours each way to get mine out of storage

It has been a long day, I left my chosen family's house and the Ford was shifting like shit. I've had a few bad shifts on occasion and realized this AM they always happen on inclines...Spent an hour trying to find Mercon LV. Bitch was 1.25 quart low.

Since it's my DD I made a commitment to have a shop do anything beyond oil changes so I limit my work..I already have project trucks..project house.. blah blah....I had a diesel shop change the trans trans fluid and filter months ago. I checked it when I left the shop and it looked great but the lot must not have been level. Now I'm doubting whether they actually did the filter too.

I feel like a snob but any time I have a shop work on shit they fuck it up. Why would I pay extra to fuck up when I can fuck it up myself?

U cup seal is fingered in, give me a couple months to determine if it will leak lol

Twisted it more than recommended but I have also been soaking it in hot water to get it to comply

I am thankful to have a family owned TOYOTA only garage that goes back 3 generations.
