The close-up photos show the wheels to be knockoffs. The 17" dia. gave that away. The genuine Toyota wheels came in only 16" size:

A few companies offer knockoffs, for example FN Overlander: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fn-overlander-wheels-spec-a-and-b-show-em-if-you-got-em.459586/

    My truck came with thoes.
    Sold them after a year.
To each his own but for me it's a waste. If you're going to spend good money get something new and something that will make the truck "pop"
Thoes factory fake locks make the truck "poop" IMO.:):sorry: cause I'm :canada:

Blacked out badges-rims OME lift with 881's & dakar pacs, summer tires=BFG 31x10.5x15 on 93 4runner rims, winter= 265 75 16 DURATRACS on stock steelies,Flowmaster exhaust, deck plate mod, ARB front bumper
Since those rims are hard to find maybe it is a good deal for you @teddiethetaco ?

Looks like you live in the north and I can tell you those are tires are great off-road and a decent winter tire but certainly not the best for winter. If you don’t have a set of winter tires and rims perhaps those narrow tires would get you through this winter And then you would own the TRD rims that you really want?

Skinny tires in the winter are a good thing.

Then again running those rims in the winter would make me cry with all the salt…

    just my thoughts…

Speaking of skinnies, @teddiethetaco Join the Pizza Cutter Club! 255/85/16 or 255/80/17 which are what a few of us here run. Cooper Discover ST MAXX, Falken Wildpeak A/T3s, Kendas, Geolanders, are common here.

17" rim isn't all too bad, gives you room for future stuff; Big break kit, sizing up to 35 a little more easily. Just little things like quality of life changes (we know how to spend your money)

Maybe I will, I do love those pro comps are those the 17s? I heard that the 16s cut it close to the calliper and that’s about it.

I’ll price out some skinnies and see where I end up. I found some pro comp 16s for 184 a piece from 4wheel parts not sure if that’s close to what you paid?

I've never found out for sure if they were actually illegal in Ontario/Canada ,
only thing I ever found about them is that since they are considered a multi-part wheel, they have to be identified as such.

yeah they are the 16"s.... it's tighter than most nuns. You can't even fit a piece of paper.

    But they clear without rubbing,

those Pro Comps occasionally go on sale for around $130. so if you dont NEED them right now, it's worth waiting if you love them.
otherwise, they take a beating and walk it off

wow skinny's per tire price out way higher then I expected. Honestly assumed it would be in the same range as 265/75/16

I think all skinnies are LT rated. LT will run more then a passenger tire. I have the wildpeaks in 255/80r17 and love them. Run them all year

Did you have to cut/trim/lift or hammer the underside of your truck? Ive wanted wildpeaks ever since in SL but @Shveet might have convinced me to go to the dark (or bright) side

33"s (that's that the 255/80/17 and 255/85/16s are) will need some minor tweaking to get to fit correctly. also Rim offset is a big part in this. the Pro Comps are -12mm, so they stick out a bit and i needed to trim more than i would have liked to (i dont run front mudflaps to avoid rubbing)
but generally pinch weld and some other things her and there.

Wildpeaks are great. iirc they are winter rated where as the Coopers are not. However the Coopers are awesome in the snow and work just fine here in our winters and in deep snow.

don't stop on 33s, a bit more trimming and 35s are going to fit like they meant to be there ;)

I did see 37s yesterday next to 35, yeah... no... maybe by end of this decade...
