Having been issued anA1 I really do not understand the elitism I se over a lot of this. That was the sloppiest loosest rifle I’ve ever shot it seemed ready to fly apart at all times. It still shot great and reliably got the job done

Other than barrel, optics, and trigger......I say it's all the same for the average shooter(lightweight and competition builds aside). I stick with Aero M4E1 lowers simply b/c of the threaded bolt catch pin, integrated trigger guard and set screw for the end plate. I've never even used the tensioning screw for the lower/upper.

At the end of the day......I'm like most and love to give my opinion....but if I'm not paying for it......I don't really have a say or give a shit

Which is why I always accept the input from yall. I listen and trust what y’all say more than what I see on YouTube. I know my limitations though and just do the best I can within my means. Hell if I didn’t value what y’all say I’d never ask questions, follow your leads on good deals, and I’d probably be argumentative but I do so I don’t lol. As far as these new AR’s go y’all know way more than I do. I’m trying to help son in law as much as I can.

I wish I had the money to be able to give personal experience on all brands ......but I lucked up when I found Aero, BA, Elftmann, and Vortex  I do think I'm gonna try a Swampfox though.
I just have to do A LOT of reading and try to find people I know with personal experience on certain brands.

I've never looked into building an 80% AR. I watched a special on Vice the other day where guys had a 3D printed gun competition. There was some pretty interesting stuff in that. The host was made to build his own and he realized the likely hood of a someone building them just for crimes was slim to none.

For his first AR the Son in law jumped on an 80% in FDE from Daytona tactical he thought it was a good deal. His father has a small computer controlled mill I think he just wants to play with it but it ought to work good

Yep. That's what got me interested. Trying to determine if that's the next addition to my rifle or if I go a different route.
