Is there a way to keep DRL's on with headlights?

I used to have an aftermarket DRL module and the DRL's would stay on with the headlights. It looked pretty cool! Yesterday I installed the OEM DRL flasher and jumper on my 2006, they look good as long as my headlights are off, but when I turn the headlights on the DRL's turn off. Any mod's to make the DRL's stay on with the headlights?

Is that not going to be too much heat? The lenses are only plastic.

I'm confused, I thought when the headlights turn on the DRL turns into parking lights. Isn't the DRL just using the front parking light filament? Maybe it uses the double filament for brightness ? So u want headlights and front parking (amber )light at the double filament light level rather than the single lower brightness level?

Wasn't a problem with the after market DRL module. I use LED's not halogen if that matters.

I’m trying to figure this one out too. I want the double filament brightness with the headlights on.

The older Tacoma's only have a single filament.

I suppose if you tricked the DRL circuit (Pin 12 Light Green/Red) on the DRL/Flasher module you could get them to stay on with the headlights but I can't find what kind of signal it uses, I suppose you could measure it with a multimeter with the Headlights on and off and see what signal turns the DRL's on.

The 2012+ uses a dual filament bulb which illuminates as DRL/Turn (High) and Parking (Low) which most confuse with both being ON after Low beam is selected when actually only the LOW filament is ON with headlights ON.
OP, you could install a dual filament bulb and add the terminal & wire tapping the side marker (parking circuit).

Sounds like a good idea, I have bright LED bulbs in the DRL's any idea if they make dual LED's?

Yes, they do. Remove the bulb you have now and look at the pins that mate to the bulb base. The type of set up dictates the bulb type needed.

Test they pins to the missing terminal on the wire side.

On my 2012, could I connect the DRL connection to the towing tail relay to keep them ON with the headlights ON? Kind of like the switched fog light mod. Or would that make my turn signal not work?

Towing circuit has STOP & TURN combined.
    Tail is a separate circuit.
Once you select Low Beams the TAIL circuit continues to be active.
Are you not getting TAIL illumination to trailer? It has its own fuse in the engine bay relay/fuse box.

Maybe I should retry to explain. I would like to find a way to have the DRL/turn signal stay on bright when I turn my headlights on. I’m not sure if it’s controlled by the ECU in a way that can’t be bypassed without making the turn signals stop working. Does that make sense?

    I see...
I haven't tested it, but my guesstimate on this would be that the turn relay does the switching of steady DRL to intermittent TURN. The DRL is activated by the Body ECU providing ground when IGN is ON and the Parking Brake is released. Then interrupting that DRL ground when the Headlights are selected.
If that can be confirmed, then all that would be required would be to permanently provide a ground to the DRL wire of the turn signal relay. (De-pinned or cut and insulate the DRL wire to the Body ECU and crimp a ring terminal to the wire and fixate to a proper ground.
