Yup, grabbed our tree from the basement (still fully set up), and plugged it in, took less than a minute!

I also make the arduous trek to my basement every year to get my tree. Really it's about the environment, dont want to be killing trees.

I donate my tree after it comes down to a local farm for animal feed.

We spend a day and plant about 500 saplings each spring. He usually sells 350+/- each fall in only a couple of weekends.

I was being sarcastic. Fake tree is so much easier, and a one time investment vs every year spending whatever nonsense price. And the modern ones literally fold out, and you just fluff the branches out a little.

Well, one time investment unless you have cats. Ours have bent some of the branches several times now and I'm not sure how many more times I can bend them back without them snapping off. This will be year three with it, so even if it doesn't make it past this year it's still a lot cheaper in the long run.

I never did a tree before the girlfriend moved in - couldn't care less about it. Fortunately, she wanted a fake one due to allergies.

I like the real trees, the whole thing bringing the kids out, picking one, cutting it down, then the setup and decorating it, it's a whole tradition I like. Plus, the smell you get with the real tree is really nice. A couple other pros, it's an excuse to use a chain saw at least once a year and, in January or February, I get to do an annual tree burning, damn thing goes up quick!

We had a fake tree all throughout my childhood into my mid 20s; once I met my wife, it was deemed blasphemous…
I could care less which kind we have, I’m just tryin to appease.

Cut the tape from last year (count the tape on the box like the rings on a tree to see how old it is), snap it together and plug it in. No watering, no sap, no bugs or critters, no flammable issues with it near the pellet stove, and no continual vacuuming to keep the area clean.

I thought I would always want a real tree but the second we put up a fake one, it all made sense.

We go with a real tree. I have a neighbor who cuts them on his property and sells them at the local village store for $15 each then donates all the money to local charities. Can't go wrong IMO.

Have done real so far, but TBD. Also depends on the move - don't want to plan to buy a tree and then move in a year or two. So - not really worth it to buy one.

TBD - I ended up going to walmart last year on like the 20th and snagged a tree for a few bucks, was actually pretty good. Might try again this year but don't know about shortages. Is it around here too or just out west?

The tree farm near me has a ton of them but it's also very busy so IDK how long that will last..
