Sorry I missed this buddy, hope you had a happy thanksgiving as well! I think I’m still working off everything I ate

 

Got a set of 550cc flow matched injectors in for the turbo build and test fitted them in my spare fuel rail. Looks like they’re gonna work perfect! These along with the larger 80lb 5th should be plenty of fuel for what I want to do with the stock short block for now

 

Looks great! Definitely interesting will be an epic turbo build

I spoke with NorthWestFab today, and their EcoCrawler has made me rethink my 4wd conversion. I am now planning another AWD conversion using a VF4B t-case out of a 6 speed FJ cruiser like i did in my other Tacoma. The only exception will be that I'm going to use the EcoCrawler to adapt the VF4B AWD T-case to work behind my R156F. The real hurdle this is going to help overcome is the difference in the 23 spline output from the Transmission and the 22 spline input on the AWD FJ Case. Basically i'll be pulling apart a part-time VF2A 4wd FJ case and using that input shaft for the EcoCrawler, so that will mate up to the Trans. Then i will split the VF4B FJ T-case and swap that to the EcoCrawler input shaft so it will work with the crawl box.

In the end, this is the goal:
R156F>NorthWestFab EcoCrawler>VF4B FJ AWD T-Case

Sorry not trying to derail the thread but…
I was thinking about purchasing a welder plus now with these cheaper (Non Miller or Lincoln) manufactures on the market now, what did you two go with & why?

I went with a Primeweld TIG 225x just based off of good reviews. I knew it was going to be a learning process for me, so I didn’t see the need for an expensive machine for a beginner like myself. I really like mine so far though, I’ve had it about a year or so now I believe and have welded steel, aluminum, and stainless so you can do a little bit of everything. That was my motivation for learning to tig. That and I wanted to be able to build my own exhaust stuff. Hope this helps some

 

Yes it does and Thanks for the feedback! The Primeweld is just a Tig & Stick welder right?
That’s why I’m over thinking this as many new companies are making machine’s that do all 3.
I found a sweet deal on Craigslist on a Lincoln precision 185 TIG welder with a large tank and all. But I know it’s out of my league. A buddy of mine that builds exhaust for Miata’s said it’s the welder he uses.

Yes that's right, it just does TIG and stick welding. A MIG would be super handy too, there are a number of times i've thought about picking up one of those as well to learn

 

I went with the Miller Diversion 180. At the time, it fit the budget, and the level of skill that I had none of. It is a simple machine. Steel or Aluminum. Raise the amperage. Get to work. No other controls nor settings to use or get confused with.

Now, my next will be one more more adapt to my skill level, and capability. That primarily refers to frequency control/pulse settings/etc. As well as have MIG capability.

I am highly considering the ESAB Rebel.

How’s the reputation for being reliable? So many new manufacturers in the last 10 years have popped up making welders…

Dang near it! That thing would get the same mileage as my tundra... I'd love to see how I'd explain having two 2wd Tacoma's and a 2wd tundra to my better half...

 

Hmmm… The owner claims he getting 20-22 mpg in town. And I have beachfront property here in Arizona!
