Love my ALL PRO EXPEDITION LEAFS, carried about 800lbs, barely any sag at all.

I replaced my leaf pack thi summer with the Icon RXT. It was night and day the first time i did some off-roading with them (still on the original shock). I use the option 2 and with 0 or 400 lbs in the bed the leaf are amazing. At first i wanted the Deaver but they are pricy here in Canada. The Icon with the spare leaf option is like to have 3 kit in one if you want to experiment or if you need more than one setup. I don't have any armor or overland stuff yet but i have a little trailler i used sometime for work and even with 400 lbs on the hitch and pulling over 2400 lbs, the leaf where smooth and i can't wait to get my 2.5 DC shock from Elka to push them further in off-road condition.

The garage where i bought and installed them usualy put the OME on the Toyota, i was the first to order the RXT, everyone was impressed with quality and versatility.

It depends on your budget. You can install an AAL for about $70 if you do it yourself. For a daily driver, minimal off-road rig, this should suit you until you feel like spending $600 on something better. Again, not the best option but bang for the buck is good. I have a set of Torch, that seem to be performing well. I don't often haul anything nor do I spend much time off road, since we moved a couple of years ago.

I wish everyone would wake up and realize the Australian springs are designed for the Hilux shackle design, completely opposite from the Tacoma shackle arrangement, and the Australian springs tear up the Tacoma shackles.

Buy quality American designed and built leaf springs. No one has the money to buy American springs up front, but everyone has the money to buy junk first, then buy quality American springs afterwards.

So was it a softer ride than the Dakars? And what shocks are you running? i have some dakars with Fox 2.0 resis and even with my 350lb tent set up its pretty rough on sharp bumps (concete, potholes, etc).

100% softer even on option 2. I have ran dakars and dakars with AAL. The rxt is much better. Bilstein b110 for now, kings soon.

awesome, thanks for the quick reply! I've been a bit sad about my dakars since i got them, but i've been too scared to put more money out there on something else worried that it'd just be more of the same.

I just got a pair of the deaver u402 stage 2 springs for the rear. I have been very impressed so far with the ride. I have a constant 500lbs or more on my Tacoma. These springs are a bit spendy but they are nice. The only problem I've had so far was actually getting them, it took over 5 months. Hopefully they are catching up with orders now and they can get them out quicker.

I have AAL and it's been trash the entire time

There is something I need done on my truck that I don't have the facility to do.
So when I find someone to perform said unrelated work, I'm sure once they notice my rear lift setup, they'll probably try to spit on me and slap me at the same time

What "Australian" springs are you referring too?

Guessing the Dakars, made by OME and tested in Australia.

Regarding the thread, I switched to Icon RXTs a little over a year ago. Couldn't be happier. Started on Option 1 when the truck was mostly stock. Upgraded to Option 2 when I realized 1 was too soft for my RTT and bed rack when mounted. Now i'm on Option 3 as I've added a rear plate bumper with swingouts and carry my spare tire all the time.

The ride is perfectly manageable when i just have the bedrack on with no tent or spare tire. Ride is great when I have the tent on and a full camping load in the bed. Very happy with my purchase and the ability to change out the springs based on weight. I just leave it on Option 3 all the time now.

Another option for any Canadians reading this, or for OP if on budget.

Skyjacker leafs from TDOT performance or a few other vendors. About 300 bux per packhere. :canada:

I have the heavy duty Deaver spring under leafs on my truck and if I took my bed rack & tent off and pulled all the gear out my truck would be horribly over sprung on the street but with all the junk bolted on it handles well.

Would you mind elaborating? A shop gave me a quote on a lift that included Dakars, questioning if I should ask them to change to Icon.

    Dobinsons are a great alternative.

Mine didn’t handle the weight very well and rusted very fast.

I switched to Dobinsons 113-R (112-R + their add a leaf) and have been much happier.
