How do you default the map to the home screen?

Whenever I start off in the Tacoma, I always have to push the map button to display the map. Is there a way to have the map default to the home screen automatically during start up.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Yes, but I'm not sure if it'll be full-screen. My home screen has Audio, Phone & 1/2 screen as map.
    RTFM.

I have the same home screen on a 2021 TRD Sport. No matter what screen it's on when I shut down the truck it always reverts back to the home screen when I start up the next time.

We have a 2020 Armada in addition to the 2017 Tacoma. I've tried in vain to get the Armada to to start up NOT in full-screen Navigation mode, displaying a stupid map. Why? Because we're not LOST every time we start the vehicle. If we're not lost, we don't need to see a map. :annoyed:

That's nice, but it doesn't answer my question.

I know it doesn't. But the first thing I thought to myself was "is K9TXS always lost??".

Not lost, but I would rather have the map system up instead of a black home screen.

    Oh look, another mod....

Try this and see if it works:

    https://www.toyotanation.com/thread...reen-to-remain-on-a-full-size-screen.1659268/

There is an option you need to change in the settings. Uncheck the box for "Return to Home screen" or something to that effect. I'll see if I can find the details.

Found them in another thread about the same thing:

    Apps>Setup>General
    Then Scroll Down
    (Auto Change to Home)
    Uncheck Box

I don't listen to the radio or music. Almost deaf so why listen to it when I have no idea what they're saying.

That did allow me to have a split screen only. I would like for it to be full screen like when you push the map button. With the split screen, you can touch either side and it will expand to that particular mode.

I think it just defaults to your "home" screen on startup, which may contain up to 4 mini-app displays at the same time. I dont think you can force it to boot directly to Maps, just like you cant force it to boot directly to audio.

I believe you're correct. I've tried everything I can think of including the navigation manual, but can't get it exactly the way I want to display. The information Hafaday gave me is better than the black screen I was getting.

It will always be a split screen - unfortunately, that's a feature from Toyota. I spent hours one day on this but in the end, there just isn't a way to have it default to fullscreen upon startup. You have to touch whichever side you want to expand.

Did you read that OP is almost deaf and doesnt listen to the radio?

What screen is OP allowed to see on start up in your opinion?

Yes, I did read OP's replies.

Not sure what OP's hearing acuity has any impact.

My opinion matters not. Just seems odd that the OP needs a map everytime he starts the truck. Just trying to open the rational for having a map on each engine start.

@HVLA .... You sound intensely sensitive. Perhaps a beer would help relax you.
