I can’t cover it in bubble wrap. :rimshot: I’d be more concerned about living in an active volcanic region! :duel:

In all seriousness, your concerns are valid & I do keep an eye on it, but I don’t stress over it! Surprisingly, I have very few chips & none are big. I bought it to use & if it ever gets really bad, I’ll simply have it repainted or something. Life is too short to worry about it. I just try to enjoy it for the short time I’m here and not sweat the li’l things. I find that philosophy leads to more interesting life stories :mudding:

I do like your running boards. What kind are those?

They look like the oem Toyota ones. What I’ll be putting on my 22 when it arrives. Keeps the rocks down nicely. They are plastic covered as well so no rust.

Touché! I would have to admit that I definitely babied the truck a lot in the beginning (hence the name my wife gave the trucko_O) until I decided that it was not worth the worries... at least not over minor, superficial things. So yes, I agree with you: Life is short, enjoy it.

The running boards are the 2nd Gen OEM ones which I got at a great price. Helps the fam get in out and is useful with mounting things to the roof rack.

Correct. Which is one of the reasons I got them.

Thanks. I’ve had this roof rack for about four years now and have had zero issues with water leaking or anything else. I know a lot of people like the more heavy duty racks that can support several hundred pounds but this one checks all the boxes for me: not very expensive, no noticeable wind noice, perfect for surfboards or kayaks.

Today I picked up my '22 Sport MGM. And in a few weeks I'm selling my '15 Sport MGM to my son. So for a few weeks I'll have both. I believe this makes me the F'ing king of the MGM thread. For a few weeks.

With no rubbing? Any offset on the wheels or spacers? How’d you accomplish this?

Family hook up, deal of the century for him. Let me improve my "King of MGM thread for a few weeks" status even more. Right now my son is driving my '96 Tacoma(!) with 285,000 miles (but that doesn't include two years with no speedometer). So let's call it 300k+. So yeah, right now we have a Gen1, Gen2, Gen3. It will be sad for the '96 to leave the family, but it isn't MGM and obviously had to go

It was his truck at the time so I wasn't involved. When the speedometer went out, the odometer stopped also. Probably some kind of major multiple cable disconnect. He eventually got them both fixed. What's crazy is he'll get some actual ca$h for the '96. It is in "ok" shape, but mechanically it is rock solid. Someone will have fun with it.

Just a basic CMC. Wheels are 17x8.5 with 0 offset.

    No rubbing even fully stuffed.
