    I'd buy a Lexus because it's a Toyota product. I wouldn't buy a Lexus because it's a Lexus.

I have an agreed value policy on mine, the insurance company has been raising the value each year.

So you just ordered one of the earliest production copies of a first year HYBRID model. From Ford. You are a glutton for punishment. I really like the Maverick. There's no way in hell I'm ordering the first year model. ESPECIALLY the Hybrid. Hell I'd avoid the same situation with a Toyota badge.

Eh, not worried at all. Ford's been doing hybrids for 10 years and this is already a proven powertrain. Plus if there are issues they'll be taken care of under warranty. And every major manufacturer these days lives and dies by Quality Control... I'm sure the Maverick -- built on the established Escape platform and by the #1 Truck maker in the world -- has been throughly tested. If there are problems they'll be fixed. Just look how GM replaced entire battery systems on every Bolt sold. Automakers can't let down customers and get away with it anymore. (unless it's Toyota with diff issues, tranny issues, leaking windows, dash display issues, rusting frames, etc.) :boink:

A little of this and a little of that.
I saw a new Maverick on the road last night for the first time. Looked good.

No pictures, I was driving alone.

265/75R16 Wildpeak AT3W, Softopper, Kicker speakers, shift knob, Ventvisors, Tint, Husky Weatherbeaters, Hondo Garage radio knobs. The to do list: Bilstein 6112/5160, 3 leaf add-a-leafs, lights, alu skid, PRP seat covers...
Just watched the TFL towing test on the hybrid Maverick and they mentioned the 1400lbs payload capacity and how it and the Ridgeline got more payload than some half-ton trucks. I know I downsized from my Tundra, but most of these are higher payload than my 5.7L Tundra was (1430lbs) anyways. It chaps my a** Toyota doesn't offer any higher payload option/package(s) on their trucks. People Toyota "targets" who haul "lifestyle" items still need capacity. Then, you see a "truck" that has the similar tow capacity as a Prius got 500lbs of payload on our Tacoma and matches the Tundra before the larger fuel tank crippled them down even more. No GVWR changes to compensate for LB vs SB or anything. Maybe next gen Tundra or Taco will have higher payload.

    Maverick door stickers showing payload.

I still haven’t seen one either at a dealer or on the road. No dealer here has one in stock, you can order one of this year’s, ( that’s ending very soon) and I don’t think they’ll be stocked until next year’s production run. but I’d need to see one in person before I consider one.

I've seen at least two now. One was a base XL with steelies and the other was a Cactus Grey XLT or Lariat with blacked out wheels and trim. Really liked the look of that one but both were sharp.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... I have had 1 Ridgeline and about 12 Toyota trucks (mostly Tacos) and the Ridgeline had great Q/C and I loved the trunk in the bed and tailgate ... however .... it drove like a sedan and the ride was too mushy for me.

Looked at the Ridgeline too, like the features, like how the rear seat folds up and the trunk, be perfect for tossing mx gear bags. Did not like the price, fuel consumption is only marginally better than the Taco. That and I go off pavement just enough to warrant the better 4WD system of the Toyota.

Maverick seems to do the idea of a cheap unibody truck better than the Honda, reliability is an unknown at this point. So the Taco was a no brainer over the Maverick.

Trucks aren’t so utilitarian anymore, vans seem like a better option. But no one is making exactly what I want with them either. Short wheel base AWD Transit is sorta close, however the Taco was cheaper, and I feel is built better than the Ford. Need one do it all vehicle, don’t think I would like daily driving a van though. Maybe if the AWD Mercedes Metris came to states I could be swayed.

Im kinda glad the order window has closed. I’ve been seriously considering switching to a Maverick hybrid but I’d never order one until I get to experience one in the flesh and then make a decision. Lately, I’ve been appreciating my Tacoma more. I like having no headaches, and not a single squeak or rattle, it still feels new. Although, as I’ve previously said, the trans/engine stutter when accelerating immediately after slowing down is my only beef.

Neighbor down the street bought one. I really wanted to like it, but it’s honestly one of the ugliest front ends I’ve ever seen. I was hopeful it would look better in person. They will sell a ton of them, but I wish they would have made it easier on the eyes.

Don’t think it is too terrible, but yeah could be better. It is the name I can’t get over, ever time I read it, think of the shitty car from the 70s and/or James Garner. Lol! Should of called it F-100 instead.

Every swingin dick thinks everything is ugly when it first comes out.

Then, you see a few with some mods that don't look "too bad"
    Then, your buddy gets one
After a year or so of seeing them around, you don't even think about it any more
Next thing you know, you're driving a 3rd gen
