With the SEC expansion I'm not sure that ND is top tier above LSU any longer. Historically they hold value better than anyone. Recently their success has not carried the same weight as sec success....

and all I said is that not being in a conference doesn't help their recruiting, it is a negative, that's just a fact.

 

How is that a fact? They’re constantly in top recruiting rankings and ranked in the top 10 competitively. You’re making stuff up.

 

and look at the other teams up there, some UNRANKED. being in the top 10 isn't as much a factor to LSUs recruiting as it is to NDs. because recruits know that LSU/SEC are an NFL factory, even without a top 10 season. not the same at ND.

I'm not saying there is data to back up what I'm stating, but there is evidence if you open your eyes to it....that not being in a conference is less appealing than being in a conference...or else...there'd be a lot more independents. c'mon man getcha head outta ya ass lol

ND is independent because they make more money than several conferences without being in one and still play top tier opponents every year. What on earth are you talking about.

You literally made something up and said it’s fact. What’s fact is they’re constantly ranked, have great recruiting, and make more money than enough money to warrant not signing up for a conference.

What’s not fact is everything you’ve said. You have an opinion.

LSU gave Kelly more money. That’s the bottom line. He isn’t going to have an easier time winning at LSU when he has to play ALA and UGA every year to get to the CFP.

Done with this argument with you until Kelly comes out and says he couldn’t recruit at ND because of a CG or conference affiliation.

Weird how they make huge money not being in a conference, but enjoy your version of the truth. If ND would make more meaningful money in a conference, they’d be in one already. That department is flush with cash.

 

my version of the truth is from NDs own AD. the article you shared even says, they wouldn't have made that money if they didn't go to a bowl. they'd make more money in a conference without it hinging on success.

ND would be foolish to join a conference. Currently they are always favored in the rankings despite the fact that they always play a relatively weak schedule. They recruit well but it's rare they play anyone worth anything. They only beat 3 teams this year that finished with a winning record. One of those (Wisconsin) was playing very poor football at that time of year and pretty much gave that game away in the 2nd half through errors and undisciplined play. The other two were Purdue and Toledo, the latter of which they struggled with. Purdue's quality wins were MSU and Iowa when each was ranked top 5. NDs only loss was to undefeated Cincinnati whom I'm not sure if they've proven they're worthy of their ranking but they've literally done everything asked of them so far so it's hard not to put them there.

 

You posted a half truth article about their revenue stream.

Still waiting for you to prove they have a harder time recruiting for your made up nonsense, but keep moving your goalpost.

 

Yeah but hey being overrated makes it harder to recruit, amirite? Who wants to play for a team that gets ranked in the top-10 because of brand?

 

And thus why they get exposed when they play real teams, especially if they make the playoff.

 

Rumors floating around that Brian Kelly’s people called Florida last week. I guess they told him they weren’t interested?

 

As quick as Florida moved on filling their vacancy, I'm sure they already knew exactly who they wanted, and wouldn't be surprised if UF didn't put feelers out to Napier's agent before making the move to fire Mullen.
Speaking about Mullen I have seen where some people think Mullen would do good at VT. (I personaly dont know why?)
