Yea growing up in Maryland and Pennsylvania then moving to Mississippi for a while; winters hit differently down there. Was comical when it snowed once every 3-4 years though.

Gotta agree! There's also the "skill and challenge are relative" point; it's easy/routine/dull/boring/not challenging because you're already accomplished in that field. All that said, while work won't always make you happy, it shouldn't make you unhappy, and I would rather make a bit less and be happy.

This is a great point, when we see others making things look easy it's usually not their first time doing something, they've been at it a while and it does get easier with time, and sometimes boring.

    New poll!!!

I have too much "stuff", it's not junk, depending on who you ask but just too much stuff. Some of it I will never use, some of it I may use if I can remember I have it and where it is. I think it may be time to clean up and get rid of some of it.

This too much stuff comes from an older gentleman named Herbert. He came to work on our cooler Saturday, he and I have had some good conversations. We were talking about people being retired from a large tobacco company that used to be in Winston, I told him about a guy I know who is a retired machinist from there. He has a nice shop and has about 20-30 tractors. Herbert said "no disrespect to you or him but if you can afford that many of anything, you can afford to help people who need help". Don't get me wrong, the guy who has them will give you the shirt off of his back if you need it and he's a great guy.

I've been thinking about it ever since and it made me realize I have too much stuff.

I get the keeping of everything from my dad, he says it comes from growing up poor. When I lived there and needed a bolt of some sort he would say "I think I have one" he would start looking for it, I would go to the hardware store and buy one, 90% of the time he would still be looking for it when I got back with it :D

I could use a tractor, but i see some places have a whole yard full of them, rusting away. For me it just looks like a pia when the person dies to cleanup. I know its peoples obsession or passion, but if you arent going to fix them, sell them or use them all, no point in having them. I do hoard guns though:oops:

I have 4 tractors and live on 1.2 acres :anonymous:

I use one of them, 1 my dad gave me when I was 15 and I never use it but do drive it around the yard about 3 times a year, the other 2, I rarely use since we don't have a garden now.

Guns? Yeah, but not for sale at the moment :D

I haven't viewed it as complaining one bit. I'm glad you threw it out there, it's nice to hear others opinions
