    Blower motor resistor.
    Search for it on this forum.
    It’s a common problem on these trucks.

    While you are at it, unplug the connector and look at the connector itself.
    They tend to melt, might as well but one of those too I’d it’s melted. :thumbsup:

    Keep in mind, the resistor might be just fine but the terminal on the connector for it might be a bit....toasty. I'd recommend first pulling the resistor out, cleaning it with electrical cleaner or alcohol, and then bending the tabs on the resistor and connector to make SURE they are making good contact. A lot of times they don't touch with force and then arc a teeny bit and it causes that connector to melt. I've had this happen a few times in my 12.5 years of ownership and never once did I actually replace the resistor. Addressing the connections always did the trick.

    For the time spent cleaning and tweaking things to try and get it work until again; it'll be easier and quicker to just replace the connector and resistor. Trying to clean and tweak the connector terminals, Will be difficult at best without disassembling the connector.

    The kit, (connector, resistor and butt splices) I got at AutoZone cost around 30 bucks and was installed in under 30 minutes.

    OP, if and when you replace the connector; do it 1 wire at a time, and stagger the splices so it does not look like a freshly fed snake when you tape everything back up.

    Use a crimp tool that crimps on the opposite of the hinge. Don't use the die with the nub as it will poke a hole on the connectors insulation.

    Most important, look for the seam in the connector barrel. You want to crimp on the seam. Yes, it matters. If the seam is on the side of the die, it will open and strands will escape the crimp. Moreso with uninsulated crimps, which the die with the nub is used for.

    With the right tools, this is quick, easy, relatively painless, and you won't have to deal with it anymore.

    Source: been there. Broke that...

    Hardest part is getting the resistor itself out just because of the stupid bolt in the back. Cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner is a 30 second job. Same for the wiring loom and it's associated connector. To tweak the prongs you literally just bend them slightly with a screw driver. This is absolutely the fastest and least effort of all the methods. It's also free. Can't beat it.

    Contact cleaner is not going to take care of the pitting and corrosion. It's a band aid at best. Not a very good one at that.

    :deadhorse: to save space I'll not include the other 12,999.

    Omg, who makes these? :rofl::rofl:

    Edit: 12,998. One has to stay...
