OFFICIAL - 3rd GEN 275/70r17 Tire Thread

Oh I know, It’s an awesome tire if you do light off-roading only. It looks like an excellent street and winter tire, I would compare it to Michelin LTX AT2.

I go to pretty remote places with sharp rocks so need some sidewall protection. Don’t need MT so ko2 or ATX it is. I think ATX is superior tire, just heavier.

 

So, what is the consensus here in regards to the wildpeaks vs k02 vs the Toyo AT3s?

 

KO2 is a great all around tire but winter performance is not the best.

I never had at3s or wildpeaks, only at2 on my 2013 express and it’s an awesome tire. The sidewall is not very well protected though, not the best for off-road.

IMHO AT3s have superior tread pattern out of all.

 

It's def not a rock/mud tire, no sidewall lugs. Aramid sidewalls, though. Should be decently cut resistant. It's way better in wet/snow than the ko2.

 

I agree. Even duratracs, which is a hybrid tire is way better than ko2 in the snow. I wouldn’t say the same about wet performance though.

My last 2 sets were KO2s, don’t get me wrong, It’s a great tire and all but I really wanna try something else like grabber ATX or maybe open country at3.

 

Who’s gonna be first with the Deegans?

 

Not bad at all. But my big question is why most ATs have unprotected sidewalls. It turns me away from a lot of nice ATs.

Yeah. It’s actually a highly reviewed, but unpopular tire. I think the Australians like them.

there is some odd ducks in the 275/70/17 that don’t get a lot of press. You can get Dynapro ATMs in that size, as well as Goodyear MTRs.

Nice to see Toyo has released the AT111 in 275/70/17. That’s a bonus option.

 

This site pretty much lists every tire ever made in 275/70/17: 275/70/17 Maxxis bighorn anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

 

When I type my postal code in 1010 tires, it only gives me 9 options. Toyo at3 is not of them, it doesn’t even have duratracs.

 

Those tires would probably suck in the rain big time.

 

I chose the Toyo Open Country AT III's. I liked the reviews the tread wear warranty and most of all, I liked the price. The only downside was finding a set! Got these from Quebec. There was nothing in western Canada. Can't tell you how they are yet. Not going on the truck until March or April. Running winters now.

I don’t think Duratracs come in 275/70/17.

The 275/70/17 AT3 was literally just released. Will take time to get out to all the vendors. It’s coming.

These are P265/70R17's. I went with the P-Metric because I felt they would best suit the driving I do.

Not putting a E rated tire on my Tacoma, so if that measns I'm stuck with 265/70/s its okay. 285's is out, don't wanna cut and rub or loose the mud guards. Why can't these big tire companies get on board and make us a 275/75 or a 265/75?
