2.57, but yeah 4:1 would be sweet.

Probably because everyone puts the biggest, heaviest tires they can squeeze under the fenders, which would make sixth gear totally worthless.

I'd rather have a Crawl gear and a slower reverse myself. But it's hard to complain about such a beautiful transmission.

    2.57..... that's dumb.

Spent enough time in 4lo to 100% say it should def be closer to 3:1 stock.

Off Roads and Pros should have 4:1 imo (like a Rubicon)

It could certainly be lower across the board but isn't horrible though.

Exactly my thoughts as well, 6th should be taller.

I tuned mine recently. I cannot say yet on milage, but low rpm torque is certainly improved. I can accelerate from 45 mph in 6th going up a slight hill now. For me, it was well worth the money. Before tuning, it only felt like I had a mildly more powerful engine then my 4 bangers. Now it feels like I I was thinking a V6 should. It was also reasonably easy to flash the tune myself.

True I guess my tone comes across a little red in the cheeks

It's not bad, but I'd love it to be lower so I can walk it down rocks too and not just go sailing off the deep end :bananadead:

Regearing MT trucks to 4.88 seems to help all of this.

    1) 4LO and 4LO RWD seem to be plenty low for me in 1st/R. Not needed any lower for my porpoises.
    2) The 1-2 is not so abusive. I can't readily start in 2, but outta 1 into 2 real quick, no issues
    3) I find myself using 5 more actually for my country/county roads when 6 is just a hair tall.
    4) I use the sheet out of 3, for corners and such.

    Just my 0.03$. Inflation.

I was thinking about the 5th to 6th ratio on my Thanksgiving road trip as well. Definitely can't go too much higher than 5th or it will become pretty much useless, as mentioned above, but it seems like they could have made it at least a little higher.

I think about 1st to 2nd and reverse ratios almost every single day too. I think about if I re-gear to 4.88 or 5.29 that will help the reverse gear a lot, and I'd probably be able to start in 2nd which would be nice not having to deal with the 1st to 2nd shift. But then I'll be at even higher RPM on the interstate in 6th...
    There's no winning :annoyed:

Have to agree that overall it's still better than an auto though :burnrubber:

I was talking to my brother on Thanksgiving about his Corolla (auto) that he's been driving for the last 3ish years. His comment was that "It's a great car, reliable and paid off, but it's SO BORING driving an automatic transmission." I know I've never had a boring drive in my 'Coma.

I'd love a lower 4lo. This is my first vehicle with 4lo, and I haven't pushed it to its limits yet off-road, but I love the feeling of 4lo so much it leaves me wanting more! I want even more torque! I want to go even slower!

    It's all good.

Hopefully we will get a 1st gear DFCO fix.

5.29 in a MT? For sure you could start in 2nd on the flat. I can ALMOST do it in 4.88 but doan wanna smell that smell.

Y'all must be running some tires then. I can almost do 2nd with stock gearing and 32s.

I can start in 2nd with stock tires and gears on flat or slight decline, but it takes more slipping than I'd like for it to be something I'd do regularly

My tires are right at 32 and I can do it, "but it ain't normal". Not super easy I guess. but enough to say with 5.29 2nd would be a perfectly normal start.

Which tune you go with? The standard OVtune or something different?
