I think they’re at the point where anyone is an improvement. Was surprised they waited until this season to make the move, but it’s nice to have the black diamond back in Morgantown.

Virginia Tech hires Penn State's DC as their head coach.

 

I understand most coaches will follow money but this is one of the reasons I wish coaches would finish the season out, including the bowl game. ND is not 100% eliminated at this point. Brian Kelly bailed on Cinncinati for ND when Cincy earned a big bowl game back in the BCS era. Cincy got handled in that game if I recall correctly. Its not cool. Thats my two cents on that topic.

 

I’m so here for the renewed hate of USC. Moving out of the middle of the country to California for a better life is a classic American tale. Looking forward to droves of 5 star recruits (starting with Oklahomas), celebrities on the sidelines, tons of points, PAC 12 championships, and the constant flow of salt from haters. Fight On!

We’ll be fine. Seems like he ran a clean program at Oklahoma and USC has a much improved administration after some rough years there.

 

Not sure about the “better life” part, or about the “renewed” hate of USC. No one ever stopped hating USC or the entire state of California.

For a young family with lots of money California is a better life. Let’s be honest SC has been awful so there hasn’t been much to hate. We haven’t had the proper SC swagger since Kiffin left. I don’t mean that irrational hate because of stupid politics. I mean that deep down jealousy hate because we steamroll teams while looking pretty with stacks of cocky 5 star players. All under the glitz and glamour of our celebrity and power broker fan base making ridiculous over the top proclamations while haters say we’d never be that good in the SEC.

 

Majority of folks that shit on California have never lived in California. I didn’t care for LA, but that was *downtown* LA in a manual Tacoma. Still wouldn’t want to live in LA, but $10~ mail a year, regardless of the tax base, makes it okay. Dude can be at the beach in no time, or court side at a Lakers game.

I didn’t hate USC when Pete was there and think Reggie should have every record reinstated. USC still remains part of the best championship game I’ve seen (v UT). I hope they’re back, football is better with them.

He’ll probably live at the beach. SC has amazing connections so their social circle will be insane. He’s the best kind of celebrity where he can get in to most anywhere he wants but doesn’t have paparazzi following him around harassing him and he can still go to the store without being mobbed by college football diehards. I can’t think of a better college job for him frankly. It’s a great fit for both parties. I think the same is true for LSU and BK too. Different places fit different people at different points in their lives.

 

Been reading a lot that ND wouldn’t budge on facilities and money for the program (which is on brand for their snob admin). He won’t have that issue at LSU.

Basically the same reason RichRod left WVU. We’ve had mild success at points since, but nothing like when he was here. Losing your foundation over something that will only make your program better is moronic.

Again, I wish nothing but the worst for ND.
