Not really. My OEM VW Borg Warner k03 was full send on oil pressure. It was designed that way. When I went to that Holset it just needs an oil bath. That’s why they insist on the large return line. People with small return lines and/or too much oil get oil burn smoke a lot with a Holset.

 

Are brass sensors like AEM 30-2130-100 good enough for oil or need stainless?

 

I heard rumor that the stainless sensors were the better ones. That was from a performance shop that I visited regularly. Take it for what it is worth, or call to be certain.

 

ive had brass for 4 years now

 

They do advertise the stainless as more accurate but I really was wanting to know if brass model i.e. has problem with heat or only meant for something like fuel etc

 

Someone from Australia posted in a 1uz FB group a full billet blown 1uz on alcohol. He said around 2500 HP lol.

 

Yeah those 1uz's are awesome, even better is a 2uz iron block with 1uz guts for all the boost

You guys that used the alibaba 2TR turbo manifold. How much did y'all have to move the A/C lines?

I ran into an unfortunate fitment issue, after making my jig off of the Chinese manifold. I had raised it a quarter inch and pushed it away from the head an 1/8 inch. Due to the T4 flange and overall size. (Mind the fact that I never had a truck to test on, until after the fact.) The outlet of the turbo would have been in direct contact with the A/C lines coming out if the firewall. For a 3" down-pipe.

 

Yeahhhhhh lol I bent my lines (firewall part) out of the way. It was a pain in the ass and I had to replace a line because I bent it alittle too much.

 

Thank you very much for that clarification. During the install, my friend brought up to me, "wasn't this Chinese header built for a RHD truck?" Then it was all clear.

 

Oh yeah that would make sense.

 

I had to massage my AC line as well, I had thought 'if I ever make a manifold I'm definitely changing this up' so sorry I didn't think to pass that along.

 

That area was my biggest headache beside my botched oil drain. Dealing with the 5 bolt downpipe and ac lines made me cry a few times lol

 

Hey everyone been a while! i blew the rear end on my taco the other day! 5 years on the ecgs 4.88 with 33’s and all the weight lol.

Anyone actually have luck making the gearset stronger? I had nitro gears

 

How did you like the 4.88s with 33s? I'm currently running 4.30s

 

2nd gear was way to short if you wanted to drive aggressively

 

I wonder how that would be with the A340 as 2nd is soooooo long lol.
