Bro really went scorched earth in this MFer

 

HR just gave me a paper to sign saying I was being given a "cost of living" salary increase, wtf I've never heard of that before. Just googled it real quick and I guess it's a Social Security act/federal thing that just started this month. Weird

 

I turn mine to hot on the way to work in the AM when it's still cold out, then when I go to lunch it's freakin 85˚ out and I wonder why I'm sweating my balls off in the truck

I used to say y'all all the time when I was a kid until about high school

 

I'm used to seeing it as "you didn't get a real raise here's 2% to account for inflation"

yeah I was just thinking fuck...I was going to ask for a bigger one in January lol. Been a couple years now and I held off last year due to the pandemic shitshow of 2020.

Was a 5% increase though which isn't big but isn't nothing either. Just sorta blindsided me cause I hadn't heard about it before.

And our HR lady hardly talks at all and simply handed me a "Change Of Status" paper to sign, so my initial thought was that I was getting canned

 

I run the heat year round. Not because I'm cold, quite the opposite... it's uncomfortable AF but I like having the "secondary radiator" sucking more heat off the engine.

Plus I guess I like to make myself suffer

I've never gotten a COL increase greater than 3 pct, if they give you 5pct they'll call it a raise

 

I sent an email to my bosses a few weeks ago asking for an additional 3-4% raise this year due to abnormally high CPI/inflation. Guess if theres a federal thing that only helps my case

Supposed to go into effect today but it might depend on the size of the company you work for. My wife owns a small business and hasn't had to do it, but businesses with under a certain amount of employees are usually exempt from that stuff.
