Is that a non branded Geissele mount?

Also, I have the same scope basically. If that's the 1-4 viper pst. I have the 1-4 ranger. Same exact thing as the gen 1 viper pst

Correct, I would never pay the extremely overpriced prices that so many companies are asking for their scope mounts. I Hone and lap
all of my rings to match the scopes that I’m mounting weather their mono or two piece, especially if they’re two piece. I don’t care how well they’re made, if they are two individual pieces they will never be true to one another unless if you left them after mounting them. I look at it this way, you buy a decent set of rims no matter your application and $100 laughing set go through every single one up instead of buying $350 scope mount every time you need one

Don’t laugh, I have had people do stuff of that nature and then contact me on how to put it back together!
And in the conversation I ask them when they were taking it apart if they heard a “poof” while disassembling?
    And they replied back, yeah!
    What was that?
And I reply, that was the end of the life of their scope taking its last breath

I think they use some kinda gas to prevent it from fogging. Technically air is gas haha!

They purge the air in the optic out and is replace by nitrogen or argon gas to prevent fogging in temp swings. So that sound is the nitrogen or argon escaping and regular o2 entering.
