Thanks for adding me, I've been lurking but finally decided to join so I can hear from and ask questions to folks with a FWC swift model in their short bed 6 cylinder Tacoma. I tend to leap into things before really thinking things through. From that, you can tell I've already placed the order, and now I'm researching! One day I'll learn to research first. I've upgraded to E rated tires, and plan to install Ride-Rites and an add a leaf. I've paired the weight down on the shell model. It's bare bones with the only add ons being the batwing awning at 53 lbs, a solar panel at 13 pounds and the roll-over couch at 68 pounds. I calculate the weight around 850 or so (since the tailgate will be removed for the install - which weighs around 60 lbs I read?). I'm obviously concerned enough, I called to see if switching to the project M would be a smarter move. That would push me back from a June 2022 pick up to sometime in 2023. My son in law is a car/ truck guy and knows everything - me... not so much. He says I'll be fine. I still have concerns. I pack light, most of my camping is backpacking and bike touring based. Just wanted something to get the grandson to love camping as much as I did as a kid, and still do as a grandpa. I can take it if you folks smarter than me think I screwed up, or if someone wants to tell me I'll be fine because they've got a similar set up already. Did I rattle too much for my intro post?
