Are there any tuners going to be in or around Knoxville any time soon?
I was told @NickJacq23 stops by the area once in a while?

I went from 7.0 (LT tip) to the Pro (sport tip) a few days ago and have put about 100 miles on it since (both hwy & city). 'Everything' is noticeably 'smoother' (throttle, shifting, etc.). There seems to be a bit more 'umph' in the beginning of the throttle (although it could use more). It's definitely not as 'jerky'. My only complaint (if you call it that) is the 'throttle lag' still exists when gassing it at highway speeds. I like the Pro better and so does the wife (lol).

    Eibach stage 1 -wheeler’s 2” aal-spc uca’s FN 5 Star w/Falken Rubitrek AT 265/70r17. Nitro 4:88’s KDMax tuned Leer 100r
    Update:
Have ~500 miles on Pro sport throttle (coming from 6.0 LT) and have ~60 miles towing my boat.
Smooth smooth smooth! Added low end umph is noticeable. MPG’s slightly better. I’m on 4:88’s (AT) and tow in S-5. Did not use ect towing…does not need it. My flats boat is ~#2000 with trailer and the center console sits a tad high (wind catcher). KDmax 6 towed very well….pro even better with added torque and smoother throttle/shifting!
I feel my 3rd gen now drives/tows/performs better than my 2nd gen (1gr) did. Very very happy with the performance/drivability after this tune!!!!!
If you’re on the fence, you need to drive a pro tuned rig….huge difference vs stock tune and definitely an upgrade (smoother/more torque) vs 6.0. Toyota r&d should take notice and get their head out the sand!

+10000 on all the KDMax Pro reviews that have been posted. The power, shifting, and acceleration have gotten noticeably better in all ways described.

My personal 2 cents...I had an early working version of the tune before it was branded as "KDMax", it kept me from selling my truck b/c the shifting was so much better. I purchased KDMax 6 when it came out and loved the enhancements. Now I've upgraded to KDMax Pro and honestly can't imagine another iteration getting better. I have the sport version loaded on my truck. It's fantastic. It was definitely worth the money to upgrade.

Thanks Brett! Glad the KDMax Pro met your expectations :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Brian or any of your friends have got your $25 credit waiting :D

More than a few times people that I have tuned have chosen to forego getting gears after the tune because the tune is just that good, however, I think that gears, specifically 4.88's, and the KDMax are the perfect balance for most trucks from stock to heavily outfitted, even those on 35's (though larger tires would benefit more from 5.29). Happy winter wave surfing bud

Damn I'm really interested in getting this tune for my Taco. Are there any longevity impacts on the powertrain and other systems with the tune and do all the other features like crawl control, 4h, 4l, multi-terrian select, rear locker, etc still work properly?

Good morning KDMax fiend! I’m about done with the second tank full with the Pro regular and I’m really enjoying how this tune is settling to my driving habits…it’s like a real mellow crack.

Monitored numbers seem to be at or better than Toyota specs - according to those numbers, continued longevity and reliability are not an issue. All systems work properly - they certainly do on my truck and the many trucks I have tuned

Review time after 700 plus miles. First off, huge shout out to Kreg, and his quick ass reply's, amazing customer service and slightly customizing shift points for my uses and driving. As everyone has stated coming off of KDMax 6.0 or 7.0, the Pro tune is a big improvement and refined in all areas. For reference, my truck is on 33's and has 5.29 gears.

I've had all the OV tunes since 1.05 and ran KDMax 6.0 for a year. My only complaint I had with 6.0 was a touchy/jerky throttle. The overall drivability and smoothness in the powerband as you accelerated was nice from 6.0 compared to OV 2.0, but I did notice 2.0 had more torque down low. 6.0 had more top end but the only time I rev that high was to pass on the highway, so did miss having more torque with 2.0 in certain situations.

This new Pro tune now has a noticeable increase in torque down low, while retaining the smooth acceleration of 6.0. Also, my truck has never been able to hold 5th and 6th gear on several of the mountain passes where I live. For the first time ever the truck holds 5th and 6th gear while maintaining speed up hills I never thought possible. Had this tune been out before I re-geared to 5.29's, I probably would have just gotten 4.88 gears for better mpg's or maybe even stay stock. I now feel like the truck is slightly over geared for my uses. On the other tune's it had me thinking 4.88 wasn't enough for high elevation and steep grades. Shift points while accelerating and the buttery smooth shifts are awesome! Hands down the smoothest and best tune I've ran too date.

If your coming from stock tune and drive normal, you'll most likely see a big mpg increase. I'm a good 3mpg up from stock tune. So might as well just get tuned, it will pay itself off quickly with gas prices and makes the Tacoma fun to drive!
