I was having this idea a while back, but then I looked around the parking lot and realized, my truck was the only one with mudflaps.

    Took them all off

Ehh. Just do you man. Don’t worry about what the people are doing parked in the parking lot with their trucks. If want to save your paint … go for it. If you are going to mod your truck … mod it for you, not for other folks driving trucks.

    Just my humble opinion …

I like the looks of the Tacoma without them but I've already got a small chip in the paint from a rock being slung up and my sides are always dirty after first drive.

I did Husky’s and also Husky mats. So much better than WeatherTech IMO.

Hard top camper...many more to add+
Mud flaps helps protect your truck….But when you are backing up Off road….you may find yourself ripping off the mud flaps…happen to me….on a dip, backing up mud flap push against the tires…it rip it off…and not nicely either…
For street purposes only I would add them….only!
Some of the pictures there mud flaps are hanging very low…too low…
Oh well if anyone experienced losing there mud flaps please share..
    Aloha

Were they OEM or a rigid type that you ripped off or the more flexible type like Rigid? Thanks...

The Tufskinz ones look nice, but are very, very rigid. Snapped in half on their first outing. Made a hell of a noise too, thought I took off a rear bumper cap.Taco Snapped Mudflap.jpg

You can find OEM style mud flips from Amazon. They’re as good as Toyota and fits like Toyota.

I bought the oem Tacoma mudflaps for my 21 SR5 off Amazon for $75 (I think)
Super easy Install. They bolt right on. Took 10 minutes to do all 4

I liked the looks of my Taco better without the OEM flaps but I cringed Everytime I'd throw a rock at my paint job. To me OEMs are the next sleekest option to having none at all. They work great if u don't do anything more than light off-road duty but If you really want to go wheeling get something flexible that won't snap off on the first feature you hit.

On the Husky Liners, is there any point to using the supplied protective film for the 3rd gen TRD Off Roads since the flare isn't painted?
