Hey everyone, my name is John and I am new to the forum. I joined because I’m having a hard time finding wheel and tire combos that aren’t 3k plus. I live in Hendersonville NC. I bought a 2006 Tacoma 4dr,4x4, sb with a 6 inch rough country lift and 33x12.5r22 tires with a -44 offset wheel. It rides like hell with this setup and I hate the way it looks with the small tires, the only reason I bought the truck is because it wasn’t rusted out like many over here. So I am trying to source a wheel and tire combo that will look good and work with the lift I have, looking for anywhere from 16-18 inch wheel with 0 to -12 backspace and around a 33 12.5 tire. Any help would be great. I’ve even thought about going down to the RC 4 inch lift to make it more proportional.

FWIW. Tire pressure and changing wheels and tires will help. Although, these are not the root of the "rides like hell" problem.

The ride quality is primarily in the suspension. Your case its in the lift.

My '06 Access Cab is stock. Its ride is not smooth like a car, but I don't expect it to be. The ride is a little stiff, but expected for a truck of this nature. Short wheelbase, narrow, 4wd. It certainly doesn't float like my ol' '71 Buick Electra 225.

Back to your ride problem. Look to the spring and shock set up. The springs may have a too high spring rate, making them very stiff. The shocks maybe have too much damping. Look to "softer" springs and shocks for a more compliant ride.

I really appreciate the response! And yes I understand where you are coming from regarding the suspension. I am going to get a new coil over soon for the front and have to do some control arms and possibly ball joints from the wheels/tires putting extra strain on them. I do believe having some more rubber under the truck will allow some more cushion but I could be wrong.

You are right. Unfortunately they put this drop bracket crap on here and now the lowest I can go is 4.
