Made about 6 of the hub tools and sold them all to my surprise. Kind of fun to make and ordered more material.

gave the truck a good look over and bolt and fluid check and wiped the frame with wd40 looking for cracks. First real one where I touched everything since Moab and everything looked good.

Trailer tires got replaced under warranty which is nice and threw the rtf on the dodge. Plan is to go to hammers thanksgiving weekend and have some fun hopefully

Made it to hammers/Johnson valley and back after a trip to my parents to get a Christmas tree. Little under 1000 more miles on the Ram with no issues. Slept two nights in the rooftop tent which was cool too. Been a long time since I’ve used it and even with the weather low 40s or high 30s i stayed warm

hammers was cool wheeled some cool trails. Guys I was with had some issues so didn’t get to do as much as I wanted but still a good time. Made it out unscathed and ran resolution, sunbonnet, and north jack. Was a good time and hope to go backCCFABF0E-D0DD-4E7C-9D2C-EE1E5194FEB6.jpg21CE1561-30CA-446D-8AAE-D219469D4C66.jpg15F14F34-5339-4FA3-B6A6-5C295CF1F483.jpg5AC703CF-E8F2-4E68-8B4D-EA1CF8185C16.jpg56278784-5AA0-4186-9643-523127BA49A0.jpgB2C7B46B-7239-42DF-9C95-FECCE5713A90.jpgDA0FE626-BADC-494B-B061-A0BB41C3367D.jpg679AFCC8-713C-45BA-8F67-31E9650F588D.jpg85FF6B24-281C-4D7D-B1CE-0FB02E5F8965.jpg

Tow rig looked good with the rooftop tent. Would look better with a slide in truck camper or enclosed trailer 5541BA35-300A-4028-AF17-AC160DAC74E7.jpg5F446CD6-F873-4498-9FAF-831E7D89B589.jpg

Sand hollow today. Wheeled with some new guys. Had fun on some easier trails and hit some optional lines I’ve never done.

How far is sand hollow for you that you can go so frequently?

It’s 2 hours from my door step to the parking lot. About 134 miles one way. It’s a little ways but the closest thing we have that is comparable but not even a 1/4 of the size is Logandale and that’s 70 miles away or an hour and 10 minutes. For 50 more minutes of driving and 50 ish miles, I get way better trails and it’s the middle ground for my dad and I so easy place to meet.

Damn that's super close then. For comparison my closest spot is 2 hours away is Rausch Creek, and costs me $50 a day to wheel (plus $22 a year membership) and is only 3K acres. East coast sucks.

Where you are on the east coast sucks!!:D There's a ton of places within 2-4hrs of where I'm at, not sand hollow level, but definitely exceeds the capability of a full body tacoma level wheeling!!

If you park at the water tanks at sand hollow, you bypass the state park entrance and don’t have to pay to go in. I can now make it there and back on one tank of gas so it just costs me a tank of gas for the tow rig and crawler and lunch most times. Which I don’t think is bad.

Well my girlfriend says buying tools gives me joy and I’m good at spending money on old junk I don’t need so I’m making these “hub tools” to help pay for more tools and car parts lol. Something I made for myself but ended up getting a ton of interest from people asking me to make more.

I know Toyotas don’t typically have hard to turn hubs but yukon hubs are notorious for being hard.

They are made from 1 3/4 6061 Aluminum bar stock. They’re roughly 3 inches tall with 2 inches of knurling and a slot big enough to go into the locking hubs and turn.

If anyone else runs hubs and they’re hard to turn and needs one let me know. Or if your Toyota hubs are hard to turn or get frozen in the winter etc, shoot me the measurements and I can make some for Toyota hubs. This is definitely true. I mean TBH I actually have a decent amount 2-4 hours away but all paid spots, and all stuff I have been wheeling for 7+ years now, so kinda over it all. I am running out of new places to explore, and have become a little bored of the "Wheeling the same park and beating the fuck out of my rig just to beat the fuck out of it mentality" Now going to a brand new offroad park I've never been to or connecting offroad parks with forest roads and shit, I can get behind. My hope is to explore more of NH/VT/ME before I move down towards you.

Good to know you are relatively local there. One cross country trip bucket list items is to hit Sand Hollow and Lake Powell/explore the NF's around there so good to know there is a local guide I can hit up if that's alright with you. Probably won't be for a while though, I really want to do some CO exploration for my next reallllly big trip.

Yea I hear ya! The parks are definitely more conducive to the buggy death climbs level of hardcore wheeling. 5min drive from the lot to the obstacle and that's about it, if you want exploreing your kind of SOL in the parks (unless you are at windrock or Harlan). Once I get my junk pile back roadworthy I want to hit up the forest service roads in the smoky mountains and do some sight seeing on the gravel roads out there. There looks to be some senic and hard trails north and east of windrock, I need to check those out with some locals and I'll report back. It's easy to end up on someone's property it seems and I don't need my head blown off by someone lol!!!

Malburg that hub tool is badass!!

Yeah Windrock has endless mileage if you connect everything properly. Rumor says you can ride dirt all the way from Windrock to Kentucky. I've never tried it but seems reasonable. Being totally prepared would be the biggest challenge to overcoming overgrown trails, impassable trails, private property, etc.

I would be more scared of accidently ending up on some property that I wasn't supposed to be on more than anything LOL!!

These showed up at the door today. Parents got me seats for Christmas and my birthday and I think they came out great! Plan is to cage the truck over the summer and put these in.Super stoked on them. Picked up something today.

It’s a 96. Had a 3.4 in it but guy pulled it. Still has the 2wd trans. Plan is to use this cab to build a cage then swap it on the crawler. From there I’ll either part it out or build a street truck to cruise around in.

More sand hollow action. Weather held out for a good day. Actually took an hour or so and messed with the shocks. They’re starting to feel pretty good but I need a second opinion to further fine tune them.
