My wife got a Liv Intrigue (Giant's womens line). She got the basic, lowest build. It's perfect for a beginner and has some solid parts for the money. Full suspension. There's 3 or 4 builds that range from $2300 up to $$$$. Definitely worth checking out. They do some killer paintjobs, too!

I think this route makes the most sense. I took a look at the Trek Roscoe 7 and that is my favorite so far, and she liked the color so there’s another plus! The problem will be hunting one down haha.

Haven’t heard of that company, I’ll definitely take a look!

Forgot all about Liv, I will take a look at these too.

Definitely decent bikes at a good price point but with a direct to consumer sales approach. At least I dont see anything wrong with them, others can feel free to chime in with more information i dont know. I know a few people who got the T7 in the midst of the pandemic since they were available and so far they are really happy with their bikes. With that said, I dont have a Polygon Bike, nor would I consider buying one for MYSELF since i like to test ride bikes before buying and these are not sold in shops. But i have been trying to get my wife to buy the T7 or T8 for a while now. I feel for the way she rides, amount she rides, and her wanting a full squish, it wouldnt be cost-effective to spend 3K+ on a bike for her when she wouldn't know the difference. She just wants to get on and ride......and I get stuck doing all the bike prep before.

At one point Calibre bikes filed for administration? Rumor says the Asian factory begun rebranding the extra Calibre bikes and selling direct to consumers. But now it appears Calibre is back?
Anyways, they are the same frames. Triple B Pro/T7 and below are non-boost and outdated geometry. This is a non-issue for most riders looking at these bikes

They don’t seem to be too bad! But like you, I like to test ride. Might not be a concern for my GF though. Another thing is I’ve heard of shops refusing to work on direct-to-consumer bikes. Not sure how true that is on my area though.

My wife is riding a Stumpjumper Alloy ST, she loves it! The new ones come with SRAM SX (kinda crappy), but the frame is great, the rest is replace as you need but ridable. I think they are about $2300 if you can find one.

Although the shops don't like it, they realize its money. I had a friend get the Polygon, he put it together, he insisted it would be easy, he had a steering clicking/clunking noise. The headset cups were not pressed in all the way, luckily caught it early, but this could be a frame ruiner. Maybe check with your shop and just see if they think they can get a bike, if not, see if they are willing to build an online bike. Unfortunately, 2021 going into 2022 is just not a time that you will get into a new bike for cheap. Good Luck

Just watched latest episode of PBAcademy. I enjoyed the impossible climb challenge. My thoughts so far.
    Emmet - Can be pro.
Bradley - Maybe can be a pro, has a good attitude.
Cameron - Eliminated, can definitely be an ambassador not a pro racer.
Flo - Pro potential for sure
    Alaina - no
Blonde girl - No, but good spirit
Kyra - Not a racer, but an ambassador.

Flo is insane. She’s so good.

I think Bradley actually has the mental capacity to be a pro whereas Emmett doesn’t seem to. Both have the skills.

So I commented before I finished the episode. I was in the race run.

I can’t remember how old Emmett is, but his mental game will progress I think.

    Flo’s going to win.

Huge surprise ending, Kyra did the whole competition with a broken rib. Wow, ask @Gunshot-6A how those broken ribs are. The judges didn’t even want her to go bc she’s got such a good attitude like Cameron really.

    Which one would you get?

I love the Knolly, but there was some miscommunication last time I was at the shop. It is the shop manager’s bike and had a price tag on it. After speaking with him today, looking to buy it, it is not for sale. They can get me one, but if I want brushed aluminum it could be late spring/early summer. Plus as it sits it would be about an $8k build to order (CC Kitsuma coil, step cast 38, i9 wheel set with Hydras). Way out of my price range. It was listed for the same price as the Spire which was why I was initially interested in it.

So, despite being a SRAM guy, I’m going with the Spire. It’s a hell of a build for the money and that brushed aluminum is amazing in person. I’m looking at keeping this bike for a long time, and with it’s geo, I don’t see it being outdated anytime soon. Decided to pull the trigger before prices shoot up even more. Stoked! :bananadance:

I’m glad the Bike Mag crew is back as BETA MTB. I like their reviews better than Pinkbike :crapstorm:

Yeah. The Bible of Bike tests. BIKE Mag was shut down by their parent company in October 2020. Glad to see they’re back.
