So ive read a bunch of claims like that and it always leaves me with more questions that what i started with.

If the prep work is done and its applied right...aside from a physical object rubbing it off , how does it happen?

And i wouldnt expect a product like that to last years, but a year? Sure i could see that. But $40 in product for a decent look that i get a year out of, that is reversable if i dont like it? Doesnt seem like a bad deal.

It’s not really that easily removed. It doesn’t exactly peel off like a sheet of vinyl. It’s a major pita to get off. Speaking from experience here.

For the best look the best approach would be powder coating at a place where they routinely do wheel restorations. Pricey yes, but give current car market it’s a small fraction compared to the price of one’s GX.

Plastidip has only disappointed me in the past. It’s your truck though. Enjoy it to its fullest.

@jlemmond just scuff them up and paint them with actual paint. if you curb them or scrape em up on the trail, you can just hit them again with the rattle can.

And I'm really thinking of a way to run the 16" TRD Beadlocks. :D

Found a post on IH8MUD that says 16" wheels will either just barely fit or you will slightly file down part of the brake caliper.

Ive read the same on Mud. Most have had to file there calipers to run 16" wheels. I say do it.

Lack of funds. Found them on ebay for $1000. Then I'd have to buy new tires too.

Although I haven't been impressed with the on road noise of the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s so far. That and I had a tire radial pull. It pulled a bit to the right after my lift. Even after a good alignment. Swapped the tires side to side and the pull went away.

Ive ran TG's both the 1st generation and the G2 on 3/4ton and 1ton trucks in the past and they did ok. Price was right but was never blown away.

Ive never been a fan of a duratrac either but they seem to be wearing good. I dont think i would buy them for myself but they were practically new when i bought the GX. Ive been pleasently surprised.
