You have your opinion on multiple owners and I have mine. You can keep rounding the circle to "data" but general rule in the auto industry is that the less owners the better when it comes to used cars from a value standpoint. Ask any dealership manager or used car manager. Even google it. Autotrader, carfax will say the same thing.

I do agree with you that Carfax, Auto Trader and Dealership Managers all tout the one owner car-is better theory. But none of them (and I mean none of them) provide any basis for arriving at that conclusion. As a result, you have added no punch to your argument. When I was in Junior High I upped my standards for objective proof. Up Yours.

And they aren't gonna charge you any less because it had multiple owners.

I think it's cool that was viable. He was probably a cool guy who could insult or get along with anyone.

Lol! So he wouldn't be a member on tw I take it :D

I don't remember him much, just that he would take him on the back of his bicycle and he lived until he was almost 100. I'm sure if he had a truck it would have been a regular cab tacoma aka the grandpa special

Quite the contrary, he'd probably fit right in.

In the old days, before carfax and such, I'd definitely like to know how many owners a vehicle had. If the vehicle had more than 2 previous owners I used to consider the information obtained useless/untrustworthy. Nowadays with the internet and all that it entails I could care less about how many owners a vehicle has had. When I buy these days I look at the carfax and I study the body carefully because not all accidents get reported.

Nowadays it's just part of marketing IMO.

Welp I had it for over a week now and the odometer is at almost 52,000 miles now.

My first fill up was an calculated 20 mpg which including off roading and mountain driving so I'm pretty happy with that.

Here are the issues I've noticed so far, paint on roof is crap as the clear coat is gone, hood is starting to go but rest of the body is really good.

Interior has no issues, ac heat all work, 5 speed shifts fine and no weird noises from motor. Have some maintenance records but will change out front and rear diff as well as transfer case. Oil is already fresh with oem filter.

Truck came with some crap wheels and Vietnamese all terrains (Sunland terramax lol) they surprisingly did ok on the fire roads I took it on, ill probably regret it but I'll probably keep them for now, I have a set of trd wheels in the garage I'll put on with wildpeaks when the time comes.

This is my 2nd open diff toyota so I'll eventually put in arb lockers but not for a while. Also the bench seat sucks horribly so keeping my eyes open for some toyota buckets I can swap in. Luckily I have a 5th gen trd off road premium 4runner which literally feels like luxury in comparison lol
