2nd gen Tacoma clock spring and ac problems

    I am new to the 2nd gen world and unfortunately am already doing more repairs to this one than my old one.

    when I test drove the truck the clock spring was bad. The dealer paid my local mechanic to put a new clock spring in. 3 months later and 5k miles it’s gone out again.

    at the same time my blower motor quit, no fan speeds at all. Can this be tied in some how?

    truck is a 2013 V6 6 speed

    180k it’s a new truck to me, what about the clock spring failing twice in a short span?

    Strange the dealer paid for the clock spring as its a recall item.

    The blower is as well I think but its a 15min fix if you know how to work with electrical wiring to install the repair kit.

    Been through 6 clock springs. The last one was oem and has lasted the longest. Finally ordered a new blower motor. If you hit it hard enough, under the glove box and a little left, it will start up. These are both known issues.

    Well, here, not by Toyota

    Oh and the volume knob on the radio. That will stop working too.

    And if you have the temp gauge on the top, that will fail too.

    Yup. I just use the steering wheel controls...that is if your clock spring is working
