Hey all, I've been working on identifying what's causing the noise in the video below and can not locate it.
-JBA UCA's about a year old, greased, replaced bushings, greased again.
-ICON 2.5's that don't appear to be the source of the issue. Sprayed some dry lube on coil contact points, checked all bushings and nothing seems out of place there.
    -Sway bar is removed.
-Stock lower ball joints in good shape
-Stock LCA bushings could probably use replacing, but not getting noise from there either.

Only thing I can think of is those UCA bushings. If so, am I just SOL since I've replaced the bushings already and have them properly greased (green stuff, can't remember specifics but checked here before using)?

@JaCado had his Icons squeaking like crazy. Ended up being a slightly bent lower shock bolt.

First try disconnecting the UCA at the knuckle (truck on Jack stands of course). Then move just the UCA up and down. If that's not the noise, then proceed to remove the shock from the truck and check that lower shock bolt for straightness.

Nice @Superdave1.0 , I'll check those this afternoon. Forgot to mention that the noise occurs on both sides equally.

Hmm, doubt both your lower bolts are bent, never know. Again start by disconnecting UCA from knuckle, to allow moving the UCA up and down by hand. Good luck, those noises would drive anyone crazy.

Update: found it!! Was totally expecting the source to be the bushings again, but ended up being the shock seal. Greased both sides and the noise is gone. First time I’ve had a Tacoma that isn’t squeaking.

Shoutout to Jason in Vista for always helping out. I’ll find his @ later if he’s in here, but highly recommend going to him for pretty much anything.

What did you use to grease the shock seal? My front end just started squeaking too and this weekend I plan on greasing the UCA bushings and now probably check the shock seals.

You can spray pretty much any oil on the shock shaft, they get very dry and against the polished chrome shaft it will squeal really bad, a little bit of oil lubes it and it will slide without becoming audible.
