    I too had to get a job and buy my first shitmobile

    My parents just finished construction on their absolutely lovely $1m ocean front summer home in the pac nw though. So that penny pinching definitely works out.

    Lease something for under $300 a month for 3 years. Take the $15k and invest it. Hopefully you can make more than the $300 a month then the car is free and also you don't have to worry about maintenance, repairs and safety.Then 3 years later they may have a job and can decide if they want to buy or return.
