    Hey guys

Still searching for the right TRD pro grill for a TRD OR with the adaptive cruise control.

*where do i get one (good quality, not crap)
*do I need to get one with TSS or does the TSS already in my OR suffice?

    Thank you

All aftermarket pro grilles are basically the same. I have a grill from MadHornets and its held up alright for over 2 years. The only flaw is a very small gap between the top of the grill and housing

    OEM Grill ($132 grill):
Here is an OEM grill that is included in the TRD Lift kit package. Its much cheaper then the usual ~$500 asking price from Toyota. I don't know why its $130 but it is and its the same exact grill as OEM (https://parts.passporttoyota.com/p/...Inner-Front-Grille/97495920/PT2283520020.html)

    Aftermarket Grill ($118 grill, $32 garnish :
    Grill: https://www.madhornets.com/trd-pro-grille-fit-for-tacoma-2016-2021-matte-black-pt228-35170/
    Garnish for TSS: https://www.madhornets.com/garnish-acc-drcc-sensor-cover-for-tacoma-trd-pro-grilles-53141-35060/

I had the white letters custom made, and I modified the grill to fit a set of raptor lights (they aren't wired)

Thanks, so just to be clear, I *DO* need the TSS that comes with the TRD pro grill and can't use the one that's already in my OR grill?

You will only need a sensor garnish. You will keep the stock sensor that sits behind your stock grill. I also updated my post about the OEM grill if you are looking for a non-aftermarket option instead

Wow for that price it definitely makes sense to get the OEM. It does say "does not fit the 2022" model which is odd because there is no change as far as I'm aware between 2021 and 2022.

It should fit if you don't have an OEM front camera installed on your stock grill

Yep no front camera installed. Going to order that one, thank you so much. Do you have a part number for the TSS garnish? cant seem to find it using the search bar on that site

I’m curious - will the sensor sit in a lower position in the new grill? Will it need to be recalibrated? Thank you.

Nice looking Tacoma, What size wheels and tires are you running and did you install a lift kit?

If it was in the middle before it will be lower with that grill yes. But many people, including myself, add a washer where the top bolt goes on the TSS sensor to adjust the angle. Could also have it recalibrated but that costs money.

I installed the aftermarket Pro grill on my 2018 and just put my sensor in the allocated place without any shims, no garnish as of yet. It barked at me a couple of days and then settled in. Everything works as it should. I just recently lifted my truck 3" and it's still operating like normal.

What brand of lift did you install? Front and back or just leveled the front? did you change your upper control arms as well?
The Fox 2.0 shocks or coil overs?

Definitely post pics of your TRD Pro Grill when you have installed it!

I bought one from another site for (altogether+shipping) $182.15 to include the sensor garnish ($44.99).

I also got Raptor Lights (Smoked White) from a member on here (Mike) who wasn't going to install them on his Taco.

    I've seen that site...thanks!

There are many reputable sources...it's great to come here and get testimonials about those sources to validate them.

Also, I keep a folder in my personal email of all the purchases from the different vendors I've used for add-ons I've purchased.

    Oh look, another mod....
I didn't have to recalibrate anything. I changed out my OEM grill for a "heritage" style grill. See the before/after pictures below. It went from being on the bottom, to being on the top. So it's a different (and better one, in my opinion) angle now. I can see more with it and get a wider angle.

I like the Blue lettering to off-set the black grill.

My TRD Pro Grill should have ship status soon...I ordered silver letters for my Midnight Black taco.

I may decide to remove the red letters on the tailgate and go with silver there as well.
