Thanks for your insight, but let's reel this conversation in a bit. I don't think anyone here is advocating carrying equipment or performing medical procedures they aren't properly trained for. Basic trauma FA however is something any layman can and should learn. The first things they teach in FAST are check your surroundings, and contact EMS. Then the basics of understanding the injury, pressure application, wound packing, TQ application, etc. There's a lot of good resources for everyday people to learn enough to respond to most injuries until EMS arrives.

Again, SURE if you have the training and I agree that people should seek out training. But the only reason you have to reel this conversation in is because what I’m saying generally how it is. We are talking about things beyond “basic first aid” and we have now moved to trauma management when the chest seals and tourniquets got broke out.

Chest seals and stuff is great IF you know what you’re doing but chest seals fail often enough and about 20 minutes later that sucking chest wound you thought you sealed is going to be a tension pneumothorax.

Again, you go messing with tourniquets from some online training course, it’s limited to theory and you’re taking on serious responsibilities with nothing but text book information and limited to zero practical skills.

Most people do this to appease their hero complex. But peoples life and limbs are at stake. My issue is that 8 hour course or whatever better be a good one. It goes back to what i said….it doesn’t matter what you have… it matters what you know. The minimum medical gear to bring with you, is proficiency.

No lol, moreso the bits about TQing people's necks and sitting on them to apply pressure. I don't disagree with anything you're saying at all, and am sorry if I'm coming across that way. I'm simply advocating the principles of FAST and basic CPR so people know it's something anyone can learn. How to properly use chest seals and recognizing pneumothorax are part of the STOP THE BLEED training resources. I learned a lot of the basics in the Army, but I still like to keep up to date with my yearly certifications, especially now that I've really gotten into gun collecting/shooting.

No, no. It’s all good, I wasn’t thinking any type of way. We’re all just clarifying our points. To that end, I’m just saying, to whoever: Don’t worry about gear, know what you’re doing, know what you’re getting into. It’s a perishable skill, and learn more than the minimum. Keep learning. Train often.

Yeah, that guy was a Navy corpsman. By all means he was trained. He was just a boot ass pimpled face kid and Iraq was popping off at the time, so I guess he got pulled straight from school and put in as a combat replacement after we lost ours. Trial by fire. It was a different time. Generally, greenside docs are a very skilled bunch, most didn’t last long in the infantry if they weren’t.

Some years later, they started having the kids go to live tissue labs and rotate through LA trauma, aside from other things, for pre-deployment spin-ups.

I've been out for years and a lot of what we learned at the time was pretty damn basic, pour some celox on it, apply pressure, TQ and scream for a medic. My son was Army though a few years back and told me a lot about the updated training, and at least in that regard I was happy to hear they've really improved upon. Some guys have told me they're even teaching needle decompression in some classes. Beyond my level of skill to say the least.

Used a F&F discount code and ordered this. Using a WW BCG that I picked up last week. Throwing on a can (YHM Turbo K..currently in jail). On the hunt for a decent complete AR Pistol lower now.

BCM Standard 11.5" Carbine Upper Receiver Group w/ KMR-A10 Handguard with Mod 4B Charging Handle and A2 Flash Hider.

Important Safety Recall for Certain Colt Modern Sporting Rifles
Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC (Colt) has recently discovered a potential safety issue with certain of its semi-automatic only Modern Sporting Rifles (“MSR”). Colt is voluntarily initiating a recall to protect the safety of its customers because of the potential for certain MSRs to discharge unintentionally and because of its commitment to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

To prevent the possibility of death or serious personal injury, you should immediately stop using your MSR and not load or fire it until you have determined if it is affected, and it has been upgraded if necessary.

Under certain conditions, it is possible that some Colt MSRs may discharge a second round when the trigger is released with a live round in the chamber. Colt has identified the cause of this condition as being hammers installed in certain MSRs that do not meet Colt’s specifications. The issue will be corrected by replacing the hammer in affected MSRs.

    [IMG]The recall only covers the following MSRs manufactured beginning on March 5, 2021: AR15A4, CR6700A4, CR6920, CR6920-EPR, CR6920MPS-B, CR6921, CR6921-EPR, CR6933, CR6933-EPR, CR6960, LE6920-EPR, LE6920MPS-B, LE6920-OEM1, LE6920-OEM2, LE6920-R, LE6933-EPR, SP633784, and LE6920SOCOM. These MSRs could still be for sale at dealers TODAY.

The chart to the right lists all the serial numbers for those models that may potentially be subject to the recall.

Seems ok upon inspection. Right now the rattle can paint is curing and Fed Ex delayed my upper again for 3rd day so can't mount it.

Reasonably light but seems sturdy. Like that it rad rms mount offset pre cut on the rings. Not that I'm going to use the offset but beats having to buy a special mount if I were

It’s the first one piece/ cantilever mount I’ve ever worked with so I had nothing to compare it to. For as beefy as it seems to be it really did seem pretty light. I’ll buy another for this build the offset mount is a nice option

I used the aero light weight mount on my 5.56 and 1-8 arrowhead. The HE mount seems much much better
