This would be really cool if it were on his ceiling fan mount. Lights, flip the switch, Christmas tree disco ball.

 

We replaced our nice ornaments with cheap plastic ones in the lower part of the tree. The ones that she could reach with effort.
Changing a cat's instincts is a loosing battle. She eventually outgrew it.

 

I have an 8 month old kitten who's a climber and never seen a Christmas tree. I'm pretty sure she'll be at the top within an hour of the tree going up, not sure what we're going to do.

 

When we first put up a tree we don't decorate it, gives them a chance to explore it. Then we keep the ornaments up out of there reach for a bit.
Well it's a theory anyway, lol.

 

Our cat Copper was a complete brat when he was younger. He was into everything, climbing on everything 24/7. Then we discovered scat mats. Scat mats run off a small 9v battery and give a very very mild shock when stepped on. We use to put them around our Christmas tree at night for Coppers safety. He finally matured and we don’t need them any longer but we keep them ready for the next pair of kittens we get in 2022. Anyway something to think about if you need to keep your kitty cats away from certain things.

 

I do similar. Ornaments go up in small intervals and the lower ornaments are not breakable because he gets his angry tail twitch when he walks around it knowing he isn't allowed to put his paws or teeth on the tree.

Also keep a scratcher close by to redirect to.

I guess that I've heard something of that tale but never give it much thought.
I'm in agreement with that statement though.
And if we're on a plane and it crashes, if I die and your about to starve to death...by all means help yourself.

Actually heard about one story, old lady had bunch cats down street from a friends house, they hadnt seen her in a week or two. Friends or relatives had a welfare check done on her. They found her deceased, cats had started eating her face and fingers...
