    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/map-lights-on-with-dome-light.251261/

I can't take credit for the write-up, as someone smarter than me put it together. Follow these steps and you won't have any issues. I chose to remove the dome fuse instead of unhooking the negative cable from the battery and had zero issues. The most difficult step for me was removing the two factory map light wires to switch them in the connector. Took a good 10 minutes but once I figured the first wire out the second was simple. I used an old wire clothes hanger to run the wire above the headliner between the dome and map lights. Worked perfect. I soldered the wire into the map light prong but one could easily use a female connector and crimp it onto the wire and slide it onto the prong. Overall took about 30 minutes, with 10 of that being me fighting with the map light connector

Map Lights on with Dome light
Above link is from my comment last year.

Had to switch the map light bulb polarity as mentioned somewhere on this thread. Don't forget this bulb flip if things don't initially work. For anyone who is going to try this, and wants one of the steps easy-peasy, I have 9 extra 22-18 female connectors for $1.00 each (postage mainly). This size slides on the "bent" blade nicely. Ordered some sheepskin seat covers from Costco. They should arrive today. For some reason i've always liked the thick sheepskin seats... super excited to get them in.

Will take after photos once I install them.

I was tired of not having sunglasses storage in my reg. cab. Found this in a 2000 Sienna a while back.

I thought having it under the visor would be fine (after I replace it) since the visor had a tendency to sag anyway.

    IMG_20211203_122833391.jpg
It's small and only takes slim sunglasses, though. Anything with plastic frames won't fit. Apparently we all wore thinner frames 20 years ago?

I have to do this in about 2000 miles. Plus brake fluid change. I'm currently watching on Amazon. If you happen to find a better deal elsewhere, please remember to help on old senior citizen out:)

Installed my bed stiffeners today, the allpro ones are beefy! Also in the process I broke the mounting tabs for my tail lights.... looking to upgrade to the 12-15 led ones.

I keep wondering if I should do this because I can see the taller gaps at the top on the edge of my tailgate, but 1) I'm a cheapskate and 2) I keep thinking that stuff will get hung up on it when I'm sliding things in and out of my bed.

Sorry to hear about your taillights. I hope all goes well on finding some for the upgrade.

Picked it up from Milogen Fab and Auto Innovations in Milpitas, CA. Got BAMF HD shackle hangers and shackles, ECGS bushing, Total Chaos gusseted spindles, 886s (replacing 885s), and SPC UCAs installed, the sway bar deleted, and a solid alignment. Front end's riding slightly higher than it was before I installed my plate bumper a few weeks back.

When it does go you’re fucked. You could just replace the foam every 100k and hope you never get old stock but the mod replaces it with a filter that can’t wreck the more expensive parts downstream.

I'm in the same boat that you are and I've been looking at a bunch of different styles. Just not sure what I want yet.
