I feel your pain...I got a red light violation just before xmas...

you've never had a ticket in MT...I never have either until recently.

    I'm fighting it.

I spent 2-1/2 hours in court Monday, plead not guilty. Now I have to wait 2 months, can't leave the state w/o notifying the court in the meantime, for an omnibus hearing. Who knows how long that will take and that's not the end of it. Then I have to go to trial! Its a $#^%$#^% $135 fine max and now I'm going to be out who knows how much from lost wages etc having to run back and forth to court! Just because I don't want this on my record...

This is why you get a lawyer. So you don't have to sit through all that crap.

So today I washed my 5 month old truck and found several spots on the tailgate where the paint has started to spiderweb. I took it to the stealership and they called it "etching". They gave me a free rental (of course it is a damn Corolla) and they are going to try to fix the problem tomorrow. We'll see how this works out.

I suggested that, but the guy in charge of warranty work wanted to give me a rental. I said "fine", as long as it wasn't a Prius!!!

It is very solid. I think the screws are fine becasue they cannot get to the screws unless they get into the vault. I have a rubber lining in the bottom of mine. Its been several years so I don't remember if I cut it out of something myself, if it came with it, or if I took it from the bottom of my console.

If you haven't installed it yet, I remember there was a trick to getting the inside of the console cover off, so that it vault cold squeeze in there. I think there were some gray plastic caps that popped off so you could get to the screws that held the posts for the lid. I also remember taking off the inside black plastic lining in the bottom side of the factory console lid, btu I am sure you have figured it out. I think I posted some pics on toyotanation, and also my cardomainwebsite, with the same user name. Enjoy the vault.

I know some people like it for firearms, but I don't own any so I have no input on that, other than get a snubnose revolver if you want a sure fit.

Its great for securing stuff like gps, ipod, etc. But the greatest use I get is, when there is nothing to steal from the truck, is to leave the truck unlocked (I've only done this in rural areas), lock my wallet and keys in the vault, and go enjoy my road cycling ride, without having to worry about losing my keys on the ride. Holds true for any outdoor sport: leave nothing of value in the truck (sparing the clothes you just changed out of), lock your wallet and keys in the vault, and you can hike, bike, whatever, and you did not lose your keys on the trail, or the road.

Looks good. Did you have to take the door off to do that?

His custom built rock buggie! Started with a modified race chassis, widened it 8", built his own frame, installed LP burning small block, did his own 4-link rear, all motor mounts, tranny mounts etc. built by Jeff., fighter pilot style 2-seat. Dana 60's locked at both ends...etc...all aluminum body panels, skid plate...

Tried to install my diff drop only to notice I already had one... durrr....

Installed version was rusted and didn't look aftermarket. I had never looked closely enough. I replaced it w/ the new version. Previous owner hadn't installed the skid spacers.

Also removed my taco lean spacer in hopes of pinpointing the height of lift at which my diff bearing growl goes away.

Next step is getting smaller tires and lowering to 1.75". Ugh.

[IMG]Pulled these bad boys out and replaced them with new Densos. 128,000 miles. Should have done it sooner. Gap was .050 on the Denso plugs and .061 on the NKG's! I went .044 and she runs like a new Taco. Look at the bright side. I saved a ton os $$$$ and it's 72 degrees out and sunny. 2 hours. DONE
