What is the purpose or use of the solid spacer?

 

The crush washer that's normally used can get deformed under off-road conditions and then the bearing preload gets thrown out of wack and the universe explodes.

 

Off- roading ruins everything obviously. Interesting!

So little update with my afr issue. I’ve been using the URD tcai for quite a few months now. After a few adjustments on my retune with justdsm it still was a little wacky. We decided to go the route of a new Subaru maf, still touchy. We then settled on going back to a AFE pro dry s CAI. I haven’t yet received it to install it but when I do I’ll be putting the stock maf back on with it. We are confident that when he then adjusts the tune, the truck will then perform as I intended it to. In the meantime while I wait for the AFE CAI to arrive. I swapped my 2.7 pulley to a 2.8. Within a few miles my code and check engine lights went away. My afr’s are still a little erratic but not at all as it was with the 2.7

 

Is Techstream necessary to have if we have HPTuners? @JustDSM

same maf sensor or tested a different one? same fuel? i never had an intake act so tempermental. curious to see what solves.

 

I had my own sensor then switched to the subi. I obviously don’t know tuning but for Justin, the tuning of the specific figures to account for the urd intake is a bit more sensitive. Whereas the afe intake is much easier. I debated on going to the urd unit in the first place so going back to what I had isn’t too hard of a decision to make. It’ll get done. I’m just surprised the pulley swap made such a difference

 

ive switched more drastic than you with fewer hiccups. did you try running another tacoma maf? maybe something else is causing issues...
