    Up last was Ryan @CenCal805. we tuned his 2016 with AGM settings and KDMAX-Pro tune. Ryan was a little unsure of what throttle setting to go with so after talking for a bit we decided to test drive Sport throttle first. Ryan took it for a spin.
    He did not need to try the other settings he new after the test drive he was glad he went with Sport throttle! Glad i could help sway you in the right direction! Please let me know how you are enjoying the tune a little review or feedback would be great. It was good talking with you hit me up anytime. Good luck with completing your truck! It's never ending!!
    Happy Holidays!! :santa2:

    Here's my reaction I texted to TWTaco after I drove 10 miles on the new tune through the city;

    "Dude. Yes.
    It leaps on launches and the lag is gone. It's punchy now. Everything is smoother and the power is even.
    Shifting is smoother. 1-2 used to be jerky, but the low end power improved a bunch that now all hesitation is gone.
    Looks like my MPGs going home are a bit better too.
    Thank you!"

    I have since driven 50+ miles, highway and city. The truck finally feels correct. I was telling TWTaco that the day I bought it I was having regrets because the trip home was gutless and everything felt underwhelming. The moment I put 33's on, what power was there from the factory was soaked up and this truck couldn't hang with a minivan going to church.
    I did re-gear to 5.29 knowing that I'm going to 35's soon and it did help, but it didn't fix the uneven power curve. Off the line, the truck was hesitant. After shifting into a higher gear I was counting '1-mississippi, 2-mississippi...' until the acceleration came.
    The KDMax tune has taken care of that issue and I am happy with how the truck drives finally.
    No more mississippis for me.

    First and foremost, thank you Dave @TWTaco for making the foggy drive up to Fresno. Wouldn't have been mad if you'd decided to turn around in Bako, it can get a little unnerving. Secondly, your truck is bad a**. It is everything I had hoped mine would eventually look like when I purchased it...instead I am filling mine with child seats lol.

    As for the tune, getting this done is absolutely essential. Kudos to everyone that participated in its development.

    Since the day I bought my truck I have always grumbled silently and vulgarly about the shifting, the lag in acceleration, and the fact that it felt like I was dragging parachutes behind my truck. Smashing the gas pedal gave unpredictable results and even once everything kicked into gear it still felt like it was forcibly being held back. Having driven about 200 miles since getting the KD Max Pro Sport Tune, I can confidently say all of this is gone. Pressing the gas pedal finally results in immediate and predictable acceleration. Coming off the line takes just a little bit of getting used to since it now has more oomph, but it only took a handful of stop and goes to recalibrate my foot. As for highway driving, which I do a lot of for work, the gear hunting is thus far non existent. When I hit the on ramp and punch it to 80mph I haven't felt a single gear change. Same goes for when I am at speed and have to accelerate or slow down for lane changes or changes in traffic flow. My foot/pedal is finally in full control of the truck and I honestly feel safer on the road because of it. Oh and almost forgot, my MPG jumped up to 19.6 (17ish prior) when driving near 80mph.

    I really can't understand why Toyota doesn't put them out this way. A damn shame.

    P.S My wife has hated my truck since the day she found it sitting in our garage and even she, after a ~100 mile drive on the day of the tune, gave the ol Taco a compliment on how much better it drives.

    When is your next trip south to San Diego? I'm in for next time, wish I would have known you were in the area. Last time I was getting gears installed and did not have the truck. I'm ready now. Let me know when you are even 1/2 way to SD.
