When I got the 9mm it had the KAK on it. First impressions it’s light, pretty sturdy, and cost effective. I don’t shoulder a brace but even holding against your cheek it’s pretty close and when shooting initially the rigid rear surface was not comfortable hitting my collar bone. I switched to the SBA3 and solved that issue

Yah, seeing that back edge of that KAK, my first thought was that it would not be comfortable in the event it's shouldered...hehe.

Do yourself a favor and pass on the KAK shockwave, just get a SBA3 or 4 from the get go and you’ll be happy.

if you get the sba3 look at these https://warhorseconcepts.com/product/sba3-straps/

    and these https://www.dirtyjdesigns.com/products/plug-for-sb-tactical-sba3-brace?_pos=1&_sid=1c497055d&_ss=r

I ended up putting an upgrade strap on my sba3 warrior poet makes one, I think I got mine from phase 5 it really did a good job stiffening the arm split in the brace.

I have several A.R. pistols as you saw from the one I just posted a couple days ago, and I have actually never stuck my arm inside one of those arm braces. I’ve always shouldered it,

Thanks for the input. Going to stick with my original plan for now and am willing to change later. I just got my hands on a SBM4 and I think that'll work fine. Plus, that 2nd link you provided, they make an end plug for that too, so thanks for that link.

Note: All NFA rules apply. This plug may constitute a re-design of the stabilizer brace. We recommend only installing with a barrel length 16" or above or on registered SBR's.

I'll probably end up Form 1ing this as an SBR anyway.

Length of pull limiter options as well but your belief may very, that's a personal choice I suppose depending on your mods for folders or upgraded rifle length tube like the Vltor a5...

Spent some at the range today but forgot to take pics. AR47 ran great with no hiccups and had the Vortex 3x prism sighted in pretty fast.

Another quick question. Going to run an MRO on the AR Pistol. Would like to keep it as low as possible (I run full co-witness on most). There's a Trijicon low mount. Are there any iron sights (fixed or folding) that would full co-witness with the low mount/Optic?

May run fixed front & folding rear

Rail to Optical Axis for that setup = .990" per Trijicon website.

    Scalarworks absolute cowitness mount.

edit:Nvm I think I misunderstood you. I don’t know of any low profile irons that will work with basically a flush mount Mro. Having it that low may give you issues with cheek weld; I had a similar issue when swapping out braces on a CZ scorpion.

Yah, I'm not having any luck with my search for lower sights. Probably go with standard height and a full co-witness mount.

I've got a lower 1/3 co witness larue MRO mount I'd be willing to part with, I'm going the opposite direction and want the NV height Scalarworks mount

Optic still needs some cure time for the paint to harden, but couldn't resist seeing it all together

Look for sights designed for the H&K 416, which has a slightly higher rail and slightly lower sights. I think Troy makes some. That being said... your cheekweld will probably suck with them that low.
