Without trying to include myself into the funny back-and-forth conversation, this pic made me LOL. I was given a Zebco fishing rod once by my Grand-daddy, when I complained about it not being as nice as the rods that the adults were using, he told me " boy- the fish don't know what kind of rod you're using, now go catch sumthin' !"

    Evening all!

Finally recovered enough to function like an adult again.

Took off on Sunday for my second Rim2Rim2Rim backpack. Took an easy 3 days to hike over to the north rim. Not sure what crawled up my ass, but when I started walking the next morning headed to my next campsite, I decided I didn’t want to camp there. Problem is, I didn’t have a permit to camp anywhere else… That meant only one thing; I was going to hike all the way across the Canyon.
Well, I pulled it off. 21.3 miles, down 5,780’, then up 4,800’. 10 hours: 35 minutes. And that includes an hour+ for breaks. All while carrying 18#s of gear/food/water.

    Good Evening

Was a good Saturday. We got the house decorated for Christmas. Just wish all the kids could be here for Christmas.
Spent some time in a tree with the muzzleloader this afternoon. Didn't see a thing except a cat.
Made some orange pecan cookie dough. I'll bake um up tomorrow.

Somebody please make these yellow snow flakes stop.:goingcrazy:

back in my younger days we hiked all day following hounds in the mountains. were pulling Rader Mtn. at dark. 3 of us. one quit and said keep going he knew where he was at. then i quit. waited on him. Big Jim 6ft3” @250 at the time never stopped. we used a topo map later and figured we did 15 miles up and down ridges.never been so sore in my life.my legs just quit.

i regularly put on 7 or 8 miles when a go to yellowstone - 2 miles at a time with driving breaks inbetween. a good day hike for me is 5
when i went to utah a few years back and hit all 5 national parks i totaled 70 miles in 8 days including an 11 mile day. that was the longest i'd walked in one day ever. it was all i could do to climb up into the roof top tent that night.... legs just didn't have anything left in them!

That's awesome  , hiking alone and a 21 mile distance is quite the accomplishment

This reminds me of those 20 plus mile forced march speed nature hikes the US Marine corps made us do

A little of this and a little of that.
    Good morning everyone.:hattip:

I’m getting caught up on the past few days, seems like @Cuffs had an awesome hike in the GC, @dewayne helped a neighbor and was rewarded, @MoneyMan55 got a nice 6 point and verified its tastiness, @vssman was the hardest working guy on Saturday, @Marty65 had a nice drive to Vermont but couldn’t fish, @CVYota and @Tacoma Mike are offering gifts to @MTgirl, @Taco-Grinder didn’t blast a cat with his muzzleloader, and @US Marine had a nice dinner with his brother.
If I missed anything else, my apologies.

I need to get the yards cleaned up today and finish up the outside holiday decorations. Enjoy your day folks!

Good morning everyone, sleeping in is nice. Wet stuff in the forecast for today, it’s ether going to be white, or clear, or both. The radar map looks like modern art.:annoyed: Coffee and chores today.
