4wd and lockers in the old section is mandatory if it has rained in the past 7 days. It is extremely muddy, mulitple "steps" going downhill and bring quarters for the self serve car wash (on site). I would say meet up at 8-10am, register and pay fees. First trail run at 11am after airing down and pre-game check. Bring all your gear, you can take a line that normally takes 45 seconds in bone dry weather and turn into a 3 hour winch-fest.

I'm not a fan of mud becuase of the type of vehicle I have/drive and how it's setup, but I am down for d-town. If anybody has any questions about the place, please let me know and I can answer them best I can.

I can create a poll on this thread for yes and maybe if you want.

So is there enough to do w/o all the mud? Already killed an alt and battery last year due to it.

The newer section is much much better, it has mud, but not nearly as much. There is some off-camber work but nothing like RiverRock or Beasley Knob. It's mainly climbs and steep descents. If you know the fundamentals of wheeling and not standing on the brakes when you slide sideways towards something you will be fine. It really isn't as bad as it sounds, but it can get out of hand in a matter of seconds when it's muddy.
Look through the D-town album from last time and make your move...

Overall it's a great area, lots of fun, and plenty of activities. It's like a small offroad city (literally). Last time I killed a idler pulley, but it was a small price to pay for the fun I had. If you not afraid to get down and dirty, have some fun and wheel the shit out of your tacoma, I'd say it's a great oppurtunity to explore. Just don't get lost lol.

Idler pulley failed after wading through a mud pit cuasing my belt to oscilate mud throughout the engine bay, mud got past the seals and got pulled into the pulley, it lasted 5 days exact and came apart before I shut it off with new pulley in hand, the belt fell down and didn't do any damage.

I understand, first time I had mine out I was scared. Now it's another day, there are bypasses to just about everything out there except in the old part (which I must go back and explore since we got lost for 3 hours and couldn't find anything). The old part is pretty muddy, but that's where the obstacle course are and really fun stuff. The new part has several fun places, including rock ledges, offcamber climbs, huge hills and lots of fun areas to enjoy. There are tons of trails, it would take you days to wheel all of them. My rig is 11 years old, dents and shit everywhere, bottom is scraped to high hell, D-town will be fine.

common sense and your steering wheel is your key to success out there.

no. I will meet you at D-town. Make sure your CB's (if you have them) are working well. You do not have cell service out there. CB's are the only way to get help/comm
