Too many red flags on a track that has little run off room. Plus it's ugly.

Miami is similar from what I recall. So could be two similar tracks next year. Yellows, VSC's, SC's, red flags, etc. could not even happen next year on this track every race is different. Changes are made to most tracks to improve safety. But incidents will occur.

I suspect you're going to be right about Miami. Not sure they can modify Saudi enough to make it F1 worthy in my mind, but then I'm not the one making that decision. To me if feels like they tried to make a modernized, higher speed version of Monaco without the charm.

Verstappen found at fault, gets 10 second time penalty

"Whilst accepting that the driver of Car 44 could have overtaken Car 33 when that car first slowed, we understand why he (and the driver of Car 33) did not wish to be the first to cross the DRS [line]. However, the sudden braking by the driver of Car 33 was determined by the Stewards to be erratic and hence the predominant cause of the collision and hence the standard penalty of 10 seconds for this type of incident, is imposed."

Well all Ham has to do is keep Max 1 position behind him in a points position. Same goes for Max. If they both don't finish in the points for some extraordinary reason I dunno what happens with a tie points situation at the last race. Rock, Paper, Scissors?

If I understand the article correctly. He is getting a 10 second penalty vs 5 but still remained in his 2nd place finish. They are still equal in point for the next race.

Insane race . That track will need some adjustment for future seasons

Standings table still shows them tied on points , Verstappen leading due to more race wins

Hamilton said after the race that if they both crash out it doesn’t hurt Max. That is still true next week. Hamilton must finish if he wants to win. I predict more Max mania.

So I retract my edit. He did brake and pretty darn hard. 2.4G of deceleration hard. Verstsappen is a piece of $#!&.

    https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/...-lap-37-collision.7GGfMvAnRIGPtMQphh7zCd.html
"In deciding to penalise the driver of Car 33, the key point for the Stewards was that the driver of car 33 then braked suddenly (69 bar) and significantly, resulting in 2.4g deceleration."

Hopefully Mclaren is on top next year.

Not excusing Fishlips' driving but Hamilton had lots of room to go past , neither of them wanted to cross the DRS detection point in the lead

Couple thoughts today after watching the race. First I like the track but hate it having 3 DRS zones. Second of all the incident with Ham/Ver was partly to blame due to neither one wanting to cross the DRS detection zone first. That is why Ham didn't immediately go around Ver. So I think its long overdue for DRS to be done with. This race was a wake up call for FIA/ F1 to overhaul its rules. It was a mess. Like Bottas being able to back up the pack on the safety car lap & when is it okay for a driver that gave a position back able to attack again for that position they just gave up? Lastly I found it really rich of Ham complaining about the red flag to repair a very important barrier. His memory must be really short at this season he was saved by a red flag & without it Mercedes said he would have gotten a DNF. Oh one more thing is RB really screwed themselves right out of the gate by pitting Perez. That was a huge mistake.

Mercedes PR Machine and their financial power in FIAA and parts of the media has worked to paint a false picture. This is supposed to be racing; not British high tea.
Red Bull & Verstappen have been wronged by the stewards.
