Really hope Toyota does a joint project MR2 with them!

The 3650 is a little clunky but New Edge cars are fun. Like stepping back in time driving one now.

Had the opportunity to drive (and potentially purchase) a 2022 Subaru BRZ yesterday…. Almost bought it but the dealership would do no better than 10,000$ OVER STICKER for the car…. And this is the same dealership I bought my STI from…. But I’m glad it didn’t work out cause here was my take on the car.

Transmission was good, clutch was good, power was just like a pepped up economy car. The car didn’t do anything crazy or feel special to me. It felt less special than a Mini Cooper S, less frantic than an older SI, and way less like a sports car than I expected.

I guess the sad thing I’m realizing with cars these days: The refinement, electronics, etc take away from the car entirely and make everything just feel like it lacks character. This year I switched from modern 450cc 4 stroke Dirtbikes to a 250 2 stroke and it made me love the sport 60% more just going to a machine that’s so much more raw and engaging to ride!

I guess it’s time to start looking at older more analog cars! Maybe I’m chasing something that doesn’t exist but I wanna jump in a car and drive it and feel something special! Hoping it happens soon but preferably as soon as the prices fall!

A couple years back, my daughters owned a 2000 Turbo Beetle!

Man, that was a fun car to drive!

Short shifts and a mini whale tail that popped up at 80+ mph.

Definitely this cadillac. People didn't expect me to downshift and then pass them in a grandma car lol.

The best truck/car auto will never beat my mgp... I grew up manual and have never owned an automatic... mpg assumption are based off of "carrier " drivers, popular auto figures... NOT actually "natural manual driver" we spend a lot of time coasting and "momentum ridinding red lights from 1st to 5th.. an automatic can't see the red light change and coast.. but I can

I lost my dad 5 years ago this week, and this post made me think of him, and our relationship as shaped by manual transmission trucks. I learned to drive with his 1962 chevy C10 (I think) with the 3 on the tree. He had modified the exhaust with 2 galvanized pipes which came out of the bed just behind the cab. He would make it backfire on demand, and surprised (and scared) plenty of folks.....

We later had a 69 Jeep J3000 (I think). We were on our camp road, and my dad accepted a challenge from my cousin to attempt to climb a partially fallen tree. We all survived. Really tough truck.

It looks stock installed just a bit shorter but yes every Porsche forum I’ve been on only recommend the Numeric. I only went all in after a stock cable broke.

My 2008 Mazdaspeed3 leading the Deals Gap Rotary Rally over the Cherohala Skyway in 2011. Shifting stock was sloppy due to soft engine mounts but once stiff mounts were installed it shifted great. Spent many long weekends at Deals Gap (Tail of the Dragon).

Sticky tires, upgrades suspension and 400 ft lbs at 3500 rpm's in a 3000 lb car was a load of fun on curvy mountain roads.FB_IMG_1602811402249.jpg
