I'm a bit anxious and need answers ASAP, but am wondering if there are shops out there willing to bend DOM tubing rear bumpers (https://trail-gear.com/armor/rock-assault-rear-tacoma-bumper-05-15.html) back to true if I get the dimensions from the manufacturer? The left and right portion of the bumpers that wraps around and frame are bent inwards, preventing the bumper to be installed on correctly. I can only push in the bumper 1/8th in and both sides make contact with the body.

BTW I'm located in the Bay Area.

I picked this bumper up second hand, the person that sold it to me just said, it's definitely been used when I asked him if the bumper was true. I thought he meant it just was beaten up and scratched, which I didn't mind because I could simply repaint it, but failed to mention that some modifications and adjustments will need to be made.

Do you mean the brackets that bolt to the frame are bent, or the tubing that wraps around the 1/4’s? You had mentioned frame.

Granted it was a 1st Gen, I found it nearly impossible to put mine on as well.

I did after taking a sledge and whacking it multiple times, being careful to push it evenly over the rear frame.

How did you confirm the bumper is bent? If it's just the "ears", mine were facing inward the same way and mine was brand new.

Yours being painted is only going to make it a tiny bit harder.

Apologize, I hope the image makes a bit more sense. The ears are bent inwards, and these will only fit in about 1/8 in before they make contact with the tacoma/bed

Ah that's annoying if that's the case... I'm going to confirm with the manufacturers on the dimension at least. If this is true then I'll have to apologize to the seller for being a dick. But if you see the image above, the tube that runs perpendicular to the arms that bolt onto the frame does have a slight bend which doesn't seem apparent in the manufacturers website.

You can also try to measure to see if both sides are the same angle. Make sure nothing is bent. Pick a few points on each side and see if they match

Now I don't doubt it being bent, but I don't know...is that picture taken at something other than 1X?

I ask because my S10 has this zoom out/wide feature and everything outside the center curves more than it should.

Measure the distance between the "ears" and your truck frame.

it's taken at 0.5x zoom on the iphone 13, I'll measure it out as suggested by you and Masttifsrule.

connect one end to tree or fixed end with heavy anchor. Winch the other end, take before and after measurements. No tool aside from a tape measure will get it back for you, doubt there are any dimensions available for an offroad bumper from a place like trailfail.

Is trailgear not reputable? Didn't see any negative feedback.

NOTE: Ah... I see you're the CEO/CFO of another fabricating shop lol

Like others said, pull with a strap and your vehicle, pull with a winch, or pull with a manual come-along like this. Pick a come-along with the highest capacity you can find (e.g. 4 tons):

Beware the "ears" have no triangulation with this bumper design. They will fold inward again if you squeeze against a rock or a tree on the trail.

Yup, I'm slowly starting to not giving a damn trying to make this true, and just want this to fit. Thank you for the solutions you,6 gearT444E, and muddog321 provided. I highly doubt I'm ever going to be on trails that's gonna kiss the bumpers *crossing my fingers*, if anything it'll kiss parked cars at the mall parking lot.
