I'm really been pushing it, I've racked up 71 miles on my new '22 :). Not many mods left, today I added bed lights from Amazon, using the existing prewires. Took about 20 minute total. Especially nice when you have a tonneau cover.

These are great. Overall, probably the best I've seen yet. I do wish they had cutouts for the bed lights but if they block too much light I suppose I could do that myself.

Please don’t do it like this (or recommend), “the easy way”! I know I’ve said it before but I don’t understand how everyone seems to pass the obvious- there is a perfect solution for everyone and definitely better than pushing the grommet away to go against the sheet metal. Will work for multiple wire bundles

everyone has the main harness which has an extended rubber sleeve but outside that extended center rubber sleeve (the same area that cable is ran through which we will call the outer perimeter) has multiple ridges/valleys that you can pop your wire through… again multiple ridges that are away from the main harness to pull your wire bundles through. Go inside the cab and light the gromment up and take a peek. Best to pop the hole from the inside and pull your wire in. I say that because I found it best to see each ridge from the inside so you can space apart if you like. And if you want to be extra smear some silicone around the newly passed through wire harness.

Yeah, the "easy way" is eventually going to result in a ground fault. Hopefully the easy way also includes a fuse before reaching the firewall. If not, it will eventually fail in spectacular fashion.

    Enough for now
good write up, thankfully that’s the spot I’ve run my switch leads through. Getting close to any factory harness with a sharp edge makes me nervous. Any more accessories and I’m going to have to run an aux beam or switch pro. Much easier

Replaced original brakes 141,000+ miles finally some new brakes . Upgraded to the power stop rotors and pads . Did the break in procedure . Forgot what new and also better performing brakes feels like what a major difference. One note doesn't do the Toyota dive no more , really smooth strong braking now.

Thanks I didn’t know about this brand, I’ll have to look a bit more because it didn’t come up with anything once I put the vehicle in. I appreciate the heads up
yea, rough country seems like it has most of my needs vs others. But i wasn’t sure if the smaller name metal fab type companies someone was aware of.

I appreciate all the replies though!
    @Tacodog
oh I like that! Never heard of this one either- thank you.

I don’t really need the extended piece over the wheelwell, I wonder if I could just leave those pieces off. Looks like it would be secured enough and only make those 2 side tabs visible. This might be it bro and matches better than the hex like cutouts of the rough country (which doesn’t exactly match up with the rsi canopy molle)

I thought of this last week and the only negative I could think of was a rock or some thing causing damage. I did it normal but may decide to change it later

Took out those ridiculous trail edition "cooler" boxes out of the bed. More excited that I have the small little cubby on the passenger side of the bed than I was about those huge locking storage boxes. Now just have to find someone who actually wants to buy them.

Right and it’s just not proper. I mean bypass the sole purpose of a grommet
The good thing about using this grommet is you have a buffer against existing wires and can I say it enough… you can pass through multiple bundles in its own spot. Hopefully more ppl see these post because I do have to say his detailed how to with pictures is impressive (just wish the “easy method” was also correct)

To be fair, it is correct that his method was easy :p

im sure they will!! Man running the lead through the firewall is now the first thing I do cause it’s usually the most frustrating part and makes me start sweating.

Toyota has got to make it easier in the future.
