I had the JLT kit on my Tacoma. Easy install. Can is a little small, but you should be fine checking it every 1-2k miles. Even with twin turbos, after 1k I didn't have much in there, but everyone's experience will be a bit different.

You can see how the JLT bracket was bent to work with the Magnuson.

Does it whine louder with the 87mm pulley?

The drive pulley isn't what makes it wine. Magnuson has a set of gears you can buy that go on the back (I think) of the rotors that are straight cut and make it whine more. Not sure what came over them to use a more helical cut gear to reduce whine...that's one of the cool factors of a blower is that whine!

That sounds like the ticket. I'm going to get that ordered.
I does look kinda tight though. Is it much of a hassle to empty?
    Thanks for the help guys.

It's in this thread somewhere. Someone linked the actual Magnuson website for the correct straight cut gears. I would have done it if I hadn't already installed mine...the blower has to come off to change the gears...

It has been fun to see this get developed and out on the road. Both Tacos were a hoot to drive and felt great.

And what's the verdict on the brass restrictor?
Leave it or take it out?

Totally worth it, the Tacoma is an absolute dog when towing without the supercharger. It’s still not great with it but it’s a big improvement. I’m at about 11k miles with the s/c and about 5k miles towing and have had no problems so far. With your lower altitude you should see 12-15% more power than I do which will be nice.

I wish I would’ve installed a boost gauge when i was installing the SC. I had everything apart and a weekend only I couldn’t wait. Thinking of installing it now, but look very tight back there and I heard that Allen plug is hard to remove.

Who ever went through it, what tips or tricks do y’all have?

Use a low profile ratcheting Allen wrench like the gearwrench 85035. Unbolt as much of the wiring loom bolts as you can find. Use a cigar lighter or grille lighter to heat the Allen screw up as much as you can to loosen the loctite/sealer. Remove it.

I took it out and promptly put it back in. It made boost onset too dramatic when towing, if you went from engine braking or coasting at speed and reapplied throttle the boost surge was pretty aggressive. Might be fine on a manual truck but I didn't care for it with the a/t.

Would you happen to have a thread link regarding this process? Or potentially which model, I’ve read through this thread pretty rapidly over the last month and have owned a SC since February and your setup with the gauges is ideal for what my mind had wanted. Looks fantastic.

If you don't have a cigar or grille lighter but do have a sodering gun you can use the long tip adapter - put it in the middle of the head on the bolt - it will heat the bolt and melt / loosen the thread loctite quickly - makes the removal very easy.

I may put mine back in because I did / do have the surge situation you describe when towing and letting off the gas going downhill. Worth a shot as long as I am testing other stuff.

Would it be worth experimenting with the orifice size? The last set of carbs that I messed with, I used some very fine drill bits to open up the jet sizes incrementally until I found the sweet spot. Something like this:

thought about doing that but never followed up - just had the urge to drive once the SC was in! May reconsider if I don't like the feel with it re-installed (just put it back in).
