I have a bone stock 2009 Tacoma, 2.7, automatic. Tires on the truck are 215 75 r15. Can I go a bit larger and wider without lifting or modifying in any way? Which sizes can work. Thanks !

I'm not 100% sure, but a 17" wheel with 265/65-17 were on Sport models. Those may fit.

But they will be 6 lug wheels.

Suggest for you to do more research beyond TW and asking for all the options.

There is a entire section of TW dedicated to Wheels & Tires.

    Sounds like a 5lug

@PennSilverTaco would know, but I bet you could go 235/75/15

Agreed. Although, the OP was pretty vague about what model.

All we know is its a 2009 with the 2.7L engine and automatic tranny...........

Besides figuring out what will physically fit keep in mind that if you increase the diameter of your tires your speedo will be off and your acceleration will suffer. Also, if the new wheel/tire combo is significantly heavier than your stock setup that will also degrade your acceleration and possibly handling as well.

You could probably go 235/75/16 without any major issues, but not any bigger.

Here is a good link to get a visual between various sizes. Just plug in the sizes. There is also a gear ratio calculator if you scroll down to get an idea how much it changes the gear ratio. Going to 235's doesn't change it enough to see a dramatic loss of power. But you would get a tire about 1 1/4" taller and 3/4" wider.

As others have mentioned a 235/75R15 should work. This tire would be 1/2" taller on each sidewall and 3/4" wider. The other consideration is tire to wheel fitments are going to be a little restricted with the 6" wide wheel depending on how wide you are wanting to go.

We would love to earn your business and help further, PM on the way.
