I called the local dealer's parts department number and after I explained it to him, he seemed to think I have the up-to-date one? I haven't swapped it since I got the truck four years ago. Any idea when the "new" sd card was released?

I believe that E071 is 2018 maps and E072 is 2019 maps. In most of not all cases the trucks ship with last years sd cards. E073 must be 2020 maps. Rumor has it that they release every September.

I had voice recognition working without the Toyota+Alexa app, never had the app (until now in an attempt to fix) and could always summon Alexa to do my bidding by simply announcing her name. I’m at Toyota now, hopefully they get this shit fixed.

I logged into the Toyota app and I can see the new app section finally. It won't let me link Alexa but I was able to link iheart radio. I'll have to see if this app works better than the entune one tomorrow.

I finally got Alexa to show in the apps of my 21 Tundra, but asked Alexa over a dozen questions without a response. Getting frustrated before it keep saying to connect phone via Bluetooth when I was already playing music via Bluetooth.

Dealer helped me install the Toyota app. One day later, I uninstalled the Toyota app.

Plug into the USB ports and it's going to notify you on your phone about Entune even though the app is not available and doesn't work with Tacoma's. Every. Time.

    Why?

Can't install simple apps, like Pandora or Google maps to the dash either. Just too complicated for it to connect to your home wifi too...

Pretty typical tbh. Support for this stuff is non existent and these factory apps and headunits are trash. Plain and simple. I don't want to use Android auto or it's iphone equivalent. I just want my phone left alone and to connect as a phone to the dash. That's it. Calls, messages, etc... nothing else. If I want something bluetooth connected, like Pandora, I will connect it. I wouldn't mind being able to download the app to the headunit, but every time a factory unit allows this, it's either you do the app and nothing else, or you don't do it at all.

Super annoying about the USB ports though. Every time a pop up comes up telling me about Entune. Looks like I'll be doing this the hard way and removing the cig lighter to swap for a USB hub that isn't connected to the dash.

Just updated my Nav card. They say it's the 2021 version but learned all nav updates are 1 year behind. I purchased for about $40 on ebay and it worked flawlessly.

*Update* should have updated sooner but here is the response from Toyota which worked. Its still not perfect but it worked.

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. We are sorry to learn of the concerns you are experiencing using the Toyota app.

As of Monday, November 15, 2021, the Entune app will no longer be used to access applications in your 2018 Tacoma. Everything previously provided through the Entune app will now be provided through the Toyota app. You may delete the Entune app and ensure that you have downloaded the Toyota app on your smartphone device.

We are currently still in the process of migrating the Entune app into the Toyota app and appreciate your patience during this transition. Please stay tuned for Entune App Suite connectivity capabilities through the Toyota app later this week, as there is no official ETA for the completion of this switch over.

We recommend to follow the steps below and after completion, you should be able to view your account and vehicle information and connected services subscriptions in My Garage under Manage subscription. We ask that you sign in using your email address, if there is an error message, then sign in using your phone number.
    1. Delete the Toyota App
    2. Completely turn phone off (Android phones select ‘Power Off’ button, not ‘Restart’)
    3. After phone has completely turned off, okay to turn phone back on.
    4. Reinstall the Toyota App.
    5. Open Toyota App and sign in again.
Once the Entune app has been fully migrated into the Toyota app, you may log in to the Toyota app using your email ormobile number and follow these steps to connect your Entune App Suite in the vehicle:
    1. Ensure your phone is paired to the vehicle via Bluetooth 2. Scroll to 'Connect Your Accounts' section of the Toyota app 3. Click on 'Connect Now' 4. Click 'Connect'
For step-by-step directions on set up, or more information about multimedia features in your Tacoma, we encourage you to visit our Toyota Connected Services Support web site. From here, you may input your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and find many support topics to explore.

Wait what...? I have AA and entune working well together. I Liked the Toyota app but ultimately turned it off again because it was killing my battery power on my phone.

Entune is gone? Color me confused.

Entune never recognized my VIN so I have just been running AA since I got the truck. Interface can be slow at times but gets the job done for the apps I care about using.

The latest Toyota app update seems to have fixed the bugs and I can connect to iHeart and use Alexa now. I don’t like that I have to log in each time I start the truck and ho through a couple clicks in the app before iHeart or Alexa will start working though.

Not that it matters because the nav has no idea where it's going. I mean, it'll get you where you need to go in an emergency but it's going to take the worst way and continue to recalculate to its original shitty route instead of adjusting to where you are. I updated to the 2019 card and it's missing streets from 5 years ago

That is so true about the nav. I compared the Toyota nav to Google maps about 10 blocks from our house. Google maps had the shortest direct route. The Toyota nav had me going all over the place and actually had me drive past our street go around in a circle to come back our street. Crazy.
