Will we see a sudden drop in prices once the supply chain bottleneck clears?

Tracking…the old-fashioned brick and mortar dealership has obviously been challenged already by many virtual dealership models. It’s funny because I see two more dealerships currently being constructed in my area (which is not densely populated) and I don’t understand it. If not for service departments, what else drives the huge footprint? A few things, but you’re right, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

of course, i should have been more clear. i just meant that banks and the financial industry have been making money hand-over-fist off of the events that have been absolute turmoil for the rest of us. there is no correlation between their "banner days" and everyone else's.

Supply chain can open up WOT, prices might level out but probably continue to creep up. Why? Because retailers and dealers see that people are willing to pay the higher prices. Why reduce their profit when they can sell more stuff at the same price and add to their bonuses.

I don't think so. The piper must eventually be paid and we have been running up that tab since at least 2008 (probably much longer). The population is aging, those over 45 are not returning to work if you look at the employment data. This is in for the long haul.

Of course, I'm a perma bear, and the can kicking has already been more successful than I predicted, so luckily I'm probably wrong.

Was it Johnnie's Pastrami? Used to do Friday lunches there back in the 90s when I lived in LA and worked in Santa Monica. A hole in the wall, but fabulous pastrami sandwiches...

The cost of materials has risen so high and inflation is out of control, along with the demand for tacomas in general. Unless they can come up with a way to cheaply mass-produce them, I don't think we'll see them going down in price any time soon. :(

I don't think thats is the place I am speaking of. Doesn't matter though, prices are out of control here. I own my own business and lost a 1000$ a month in income at this point, I have also not raised prices on my clients, as of today.

Hate to break it to you but income tax has been around in the US since the 1860's. I don't think they had WWII in mind back then.

The price of these tacoma's will level off, or drop when people become smart enough to stop paying for what they are now. Simple supply and demand.

Maybe in Washington state. Below MSRP has always been the norm in Texas, until the past 10 months.

I would not pay MSRP or higher for a Bronco. Same for a C8 Corvette. Too much insanity right now.

Tariffs put in place in 2018 have not helped material prices. At least we're getting away from the tariffs:

It's not a partisan political statement and tariffs are directly attributable to cost of materials.

We've already had people talk about the fed printing money (govt decision) yet that didn't warrant a reply?

Oy vey! What is political about saying the word "tarriff"? If that is considered political, I guess we are pretty much restricted to talking about our favorite Little Debbie snack cake here on TW.
