Bringing this up again to say R.I.P to my 10mm ratchet box wrench… I mean it was hf but normally they last me at work with heavier/longer use and this was a 1 time use. I was able to get everything tighten down before the ratchet completely stripped. Now I could access the bolt heads easily with a socket if I wanted but I have a personal problem with over tightening which is why I always use a torque when specs provided but with everyone’s experience in the specs that also seemed like a bad idea. I felt I wouldn’t tighten as much with the feel of a wrench over socket- I don’t know maybe complete bs.

for shits and giggles I did take a in ft pounds torque to 1 roof bolts to test. I set to the lowest setting I think 20in when it called for 53in and even though It was tight it wouldn’t click. I didn’t go further but the foam is just to easily compressed for it to register but I’m good with how I have it.

I did have to loosen up the bolts after the initial hand tight because the side and front/rear panel weren’t exactly flush like I wanted so I wrapped a rubber mallet with a microfiber and a few short blows on each corner got it perfectly.

Hello, new to the forum. RSI is the first upgrade I've done to my gen 3. Def work your way up on the torque, I would start at 10 and work up from there in increments of 10 until you reach specified torque. Have had it on for 2 weeks now with it being exposed to a decent amount of rain, no leaks from the cap. Only leaks I'm noticing is from the ends of the tailgate. IMO get the adventure model, seen a lot of people complaining about the latches/locks on the window style, if exposed to heat long increments of time the seal around the latches start to melt and shift.

Getting some help to lift the canopy tomorrow morning and need confirmation on the rubber pads. The instructions/pictures aren’t clear to me on exact placement, this is where I think they are to go- directly behind the clamp/bolt butt up against the d gasket? Sticky side on the canopy?

Where you have them placed is correct, I put the cap on my bed first then just hand seated them behind each bolt placement. Make sure the last two go towards the front of the cap (sliding window) on each corner of the cap.

Instructions say that last two are to be placed towards the "rear of the bin", which i took to mean towards the rear of the truck by the tailgate.

Exactly, same way I did mine. Tighten down until you can't slide them anymore. But I agree, the rubber pads should be near the bolts where the mate with the truck box!

Want to thank everyone for the help/clarification. Everything went good (hard to believe it only weights 180lbs when it seems heavier than the fiberglass which I think said 180 too). As I set it up I’ll post pictures.

I did poof some graphite in the locks and it seems to of helped smooth out the key insertion (seemed super rough at first). I have to say overall/initial impressions… I was not nearly this excited/happy when I first got the fiberglass cap (which I just started to despise as time went on).

Goofy question: is it possible to swap side doors on a Sport for those from an Adventure (assuming you were able to locate doors)?

They are the same from a short bed to long bed right? it seems possible the sport and adventure would be cookie cutter too just for the cost savings but worst case you know the whole panel definitely could.

Through this crack (I did pry it slightly bigger from when I had the fiberglass, which I may not of done if given the chance again but it’s there now so that’s what I used). Also left the fuse on the inside for future access but will clean it up and make it hidden.

Finally got back to implementing my 3D printed latch cover idea - looks like @r4nsom beat me to it - nice job! I had printed one and tested it and found it was warping over time from absorbing moisture. I had also, ahem, speed tested my original design to ensure it stayed magnetically attached. So I printed out 6 of my covers last week and went ahead and sealed them with a few coats of spray poly. I installed the magnets, 20 per cover, 1/8" dia x 1/4" long rod magnets (https://www.magcraft.com/magcraft-nsn0576) and the o-ring stock, 1/16" dia x 14.75" long for each cover (https://www.mcmaster.com/1430K51/). The o-ring stock just stays in its groove - no adhesive or anything needed. And the magnets are press fit into the cover. I cleaned out my latches of the water and ice that is in there now, and put on my covers tonight. We're supposed to get 2" of snow tomorrow, so I'll let y'all know how they work! If they are working I'll post up the STL file on thingiverse so others can download and print it.

Took me about three days, and finally read this entire thread. Such an informative and entertaining read. Thank you to all contributors.

Found one in stock, ready to ship and ordered a LB EvoA yesterday from you @OffroadAlliance.com since you seem like a solid organization, same as @Mike's Custom Toys.

Now the question of silicon vs. Polyurethane on the bed rails....

Today was a shock... Ordered the EvoA on 12/6 at ~11 a.m. PST. Received 12/8 at ~11 a.m. The cap came before the holiday Yeti mug!

Thank you @OffroadAlliance.com, amazing shipping time to California, and the condition was immaculate.

Put in about 3 hours tonight, solo assembly, and exhausted. Got the sides on, and all the fasteners for the front hand tightened.
Will post some pictures later, showing my misaligned fastener block/clamp ... potential issue.:boom:
